270 Spadina
Bumped into Carey down on Spadina on Friday and he let me take a peek in the club to see what they were up to as far as the renos for the club go. Was great to see that with his work boots on and sleeves rolled up that he is pouring his own blood, sweat and tears into the place.
He let me know that over the next few months the space will be rolling out exciting new upgrades to the dancefloor, lighting, coat check and bathrooms. I know...I know... the big question on everyone's mind is ...what about the sound? Although Carey didn't want to go into specifics he promises that once the renovations are finished the sound will NOT disappoint. There is a plan in place and it is BIG. 
that's all I got for now but if the House talent, that Carey's team has been able to bring into the city for us, is any indication of their potential... then the new year is definitely going to be an exciting one at 270 Spadina. W00T!! Can't wait.
thats great to hear. just looking at all the november events lined up for that place you can totally tell the true house sound its gonna cater to. i can't wait!

I'm sure over a few months lots can be done with the space, but will the sound be good for the events in November? Or will that be a work in progress too ? I am worried it will be hard to have a decent system in place for the next few events. I can live without changes in the decor for a few months, but need my sound

as much as I know and Love the alpha system (I do have one after all)
the thing 270 Spadina has going for it is flawless room acoustics , regardless of what system goes in there it will sound awsome
On the Alpha note there is a second alpha system sitting in a warehouse in mississauga (not Boa's , that is in another warehouse) that i know about , so this could potentialy be used there !!
i heard that Shorty is coming in to take care of business

i heard rumours of shorty being in Toronto too! Hope it's true, although would he have enough time to get it all installed in time? His systems are custom made, not off the shelf.

I'm worried about the sound as well.
It's the only thing I haven't heard from the club, but everything else I know about it I'm impressed with...I'm waiting for more official announcements.
The thing I'd want the most is a custom-made system, like Stereo MTL.
I also talked to Carey about this venue and he was so cute and excited about it.
Good things happen to good people.
Without a doubt I will be checking this place out on more than one occasion.

All the Shorty and 'like Stereo' comments? After seeing Max and Behrouz at Stereo over the summer, I think/thought BOA's system was better. I wouldn't want the Stereo setup if that's what you get, what they had was superior.
Stereo was good, don't get me wrong, but BOA was better.
Scientifically I wonder how much of BOA's insane sound was the Alpha and how much was the near perfect acoustics of the venue. Regardless, there are definitely exciting new things happening for us in the city

boa's is more than good, but I prefer the perfect bass of stereo's system.
