This edit or remix or whatever you want to call it is trash and is a disgrace to the original. How dare Montana for even thinking he can remix this piece of gold. All it is a Montana bassline added with effects over the original, not very innovative in my view. But hey, that's what trance has amounted to these days, shit.

i heard tisto drop it a year or so back when he was here in finland and god damn did it suck! absolutely horrible piece of crap! totally ruins the original and adds absolutely NOTHING! this is a crap tune and that's the end of it! montana is crap. he's done a few ok tracks, but his edits suck ass very much.

Posted by MennoB on Oct-25-2005 19:08:

The best version of this track is the live version made bij M.I.K.E. himself.. (The Anthem, on the IC cd of Tisto)

The version Montana made, is nothing then an edit of the original and will never been released. It was just made by Montana for TiC.

I like this edit as the most edits/remixes by Montana, but as i said: I isn't that good as the Original and the Live Version!

I heard a 20 minute version of Universal Nation that M.I.K.E. played as his outro here in Toronto. Ask anyone who was there... you didn't need to have 1 drink or touch 1 drug the whole night and you were f*cked

It did its job @ TIC and it was amazing as the finishing track, the roof went off

but overall it's a shitty remake

Posted by IgnazZio on Oct-26-2005 18:19:

I actually like the Edit. I like the sound Montana uses in his edits, and it fits perfectly with UN. Offcourse, the original is untouchable, but this edit is a real dancefloor killer!

NOTHING will or ever beat that moment when Tiesto opened up with "THE ANTHEM" Universal nation(PUSH) (orgi. edit) in 1999 INNERCITY AMSTERDAM...that I have to say mustve been the most amazing thing EVERRrrrr!!!!WISH i was there....I still hear that in my head....its is so amazing..eventhough it really sounded like ther were about 10 people in the whole hall lol!!

That CD wasn't mixed live. It is a studio mix. The people you hear in the beginning are the people who where there when MIKE recorded the Live Version of Universal Nation

Tiesto also played that track at te beginning of his 'Classics Hour' at TiC 2004. I went nuts when he played that track!

say wha?

sources? lolmao

Posted by MennoB on Oct-27-2005 19:05:

1. When you see the video that was made that night you hear he played some tracks in different order..

2. Only in The Anthem you hear people scream..

3. He made some mixing faults in that video and you doesn't hear that faults on the cd..

4. (not sure about this) He played a longer set than 73 minutes that night..

Enough?

WTF? why has this information been held from us??? This seriously upsets me! I was sooooo there in that opening of IC, well, I felt like it atleast.

I think I was better off not knowing that

Wow, I knew it wasn't mixed live but I thought at least the crowd noise at the start was from Innercity.

What M.I.K.E. act was it recorded at, i.e. was the set fully recorded and released?

The only thing i know is that M.I.K.E. recorded the track live.. But I doesn't know at what party or set. A few people has that vinyl/cd.. It's very rare

i have the live version on cd. it was recorded in a Belgian Club called Illusion, november 1998

Posted by isoterra on Nov-02-2005 00:38:

i don't get why people slate this. it's just the original with a tougher kick & laced with a few extra fx splashed on, hence the reason it's a 're-edit' & not a 'remix'. it has the exact feel of the original only with a slightly more up-to-date sound that mixes better with modern tracks. as far as i know it was only made for him, tiesto & probably a handful of other blackhole DJs to play out, not as a cashgrab or anything

^ completely makes no sense to me. how can it ruin the original without adding anything significant? how the fuck can it ruin the original in the first place? it's not like the original has lost any merit because of the edit. people throw the "X ruined Y" complaint around shitloads & it annoys me because it's bs most of the time

And that live version is also the B-side on the 12" "Push - Cosmonautica" So not rare at all

it doesn't make the original any worse. that's not what is meant by saying it totally ruins the original. the original is still as good as it ever was. the edit ruins the thing what was special in the original and therefore the edit is CRAP. it doesn't matter that it's pretty much only a new bassline and some effects and some looping, it still sounds bad and the special good feeling of the original is lost. if you cannot understand that then all i have to say is:
