Some interesting stuff.

BUT.

I would like to work with a vocalist like Coldplay or something, or maybe a rapper. Actually in my show in New York last Friday at Crobar, P Diddy got on stage. That was awesome. maybe I can try to convince him to do something together.

Anyone else scared of this?

I dunno, I kind of liked the track "let's get up and let's get ill". I would rather hear him collaborate with one of the other artists he mentioned though.

Hmmmmmmm...

Pretty good interview. Don't really like the idea of Armin teaming up with P Diddy though.

What's secret does Armin have in store?

I've always had a weak spot for Enya, the Irish folk singer. She's beautiful!. Or Maire Brennan of Clannad. Or maybe even Bjork.

"I listen to 50 Cent , I listen to Eminem, I bought all those albums"

this scared me, apart from that its a good interview

Armin's real agenda:

" I guess I am up for anything. I've always had a weak spot for Enya, the Irish folk singer. She's beautiful!. Or Maire Brennan of Clannad. Or maybe even Bjork. These are all artists that have their own agenda, its so hard to get in touch with them but I'm sure one of these days I am going to nail one of them. "

Well, that will be the huge surprise of 2006 - Armin will finally announce that he got to nail all of them!

at once, too!

Lol! cheeky muppet!

so what if he listens to rappers?
it is true, listening to trance all the time makes u loose creativity. thats what happens to me also.

BUT, keep diddy away. that guy ruins it when he touches something. and i swear this, if armin asks diddy to do so, diddy will be all up for it, cz u know, he likes to be in everything. and once diddy is in, armin will be the next eminem.

other than that, armin sounds like a real nice guy. notice he doesnt sound like hes larger than life unlike some other ppl who have the fame. he mentions in the interview that hes still shocked about armin only.

good interview.thanx

Rap and trance. Never heard of such things. Is it even possible?? Are there any tracks or bootleg mashups of trance+rap? The closest I can remember is "nobody listens to techno". Hehe...that was a funny one. Eminem what a tool. I just don't think the two would work well together. It's like mixing... mayo and peanut butter... imagine that aftertaste!

But I will always play trance. I will always support A State Of Trance. Whenever people come to my shows, I am a trance guy. That's the music I love. I like to experiment a little, but not as much that I would go become a house DJ all of a sudden. But I like to experiment, like that Mode Hookers track, that's a track I would play.

Beautiful! =)

lol. yeah i remember that.

Guys I think its pretty obvious at this point Diddy isn't going anywhere when Armin Van Buuren no less says in an interview point blank he'd like them to work together. He spoke as if he knew very little about Diddy, which isn't shocking, won't Armin sure be surprised.

Anyway maybe this isn't such a bad idea. Rap and Hip Hop have a great track record with being able to take a sound spice it up. Lord knows trance in particular is in need of a tuneup. I have faith in Electronic's artists for them to be able to keep these guys like Diddy at arms length so they can't do too much damage.

But worst case scenario? We get another genre.

Trance is too European to work with hip-hop.

I think the reason these artists are so hard to get a hold of is because they've heard Shivvers. The album is not fit to put on any medium. It's absolute rubbish and Armin is not an artist by any definition of the word. He's a run of the mill DJ who can make a crowd jump up and down. His sets lack imagination and technicality... which he knows since he rather amusingly talked about hitting the Key E, as if to try make it seem as though he has a musical motive. hahaha. As to if he wins the number 1 spot... it really doesn't matter to me because that list, like any chart speaks nothing of real talent. And as to evolving... I think those of us who liked him in his day are the ones who've evolved where as Armin along with the only big name Trance DJ's should be handed a newspaper to inform them it is almost 2006... and 2001 was 5 years ago... time to move on.

You're an idiot. Yes, Armin got where he is today because he has no skill.
