Oceanlab - Sirens Of The Sea

as I know there are two remixes atm,

KvA rmx and
A&B original mix

which one do you prefer? I have not heard the original mix yet, so I'm still looking forward to hear it because I'm a bit disappointed with KvA's rmx..

does anyone know the release date?

A&B played original mix of sirens of the sea last night at TATW (second track). You can listen it again at anjunabeats website . Sounds pretty good.

I believe it might be brought forward to December 12th, as there was a problem with the mastering on Luminary - Amsterdam (which was due to be released then).

It's a cracking tune, a proper return to classic Above & Beyond. Both mixes work really well, but I'd have go for the Original, as the KvA is a bit too tough for Justine's vocals.

I think, that Ralph Kyau and Steve Mbius Albert a very good job on remixing this one.
Much better than the original version, but its pretty mint, too.

Latest date I have is January, has yet to change on the weekly updates I receive from the distributor Anjuna is on.

tbh i think the KvA remix is shitty. The break is the same as "Made of sun" and basically it sounds much like there remix of "Find" too. Not good.
Still to hear the Original which i hear is a return to their old form. Which would be nice.

The original mix is nice but not spectcular. Its not as commercially accessable as Satellite either becuase it doesnt have a big killer riff. Perhaps another A&B remix will make it more club friendly.

Original Mix beats Kyau vs. Albert Remix by far IMO! Simply amazing track, remind me good, old trance tracks... I'm in love with the Original! Can't wait for the release.

The Original Mix is beautiful in my opinion, although I can't compare or comment on the KvA remix as I haven't heard it yet

Posted by Feador on Oct-29-2005 15:42:

imo the kva mix dont do justice to the original mix, which is simply beautiful

Got to say that the Above & Beyond remix grew on me very much! It's unbelievable, I really thought it was a weak tune, But now, It's different.

I prefer the above & beyond original mix over the kyau vs albert remix.

Posted by Sunquest on Nov-06-2005 13:53:

listening to the original mix nonnnnn stop, its simply incredible, oceanlab never dissapoint, and the kyau vs albert remix also rocks, this will be one great release

Posted by Luke Terry on Nov-06-2005 14:42:

i think the vocals are really strong in this, back to good old oceanlab quality fingers crossed. satellite just didn't do it for me!

Absolutly in love with the original Mix , vocal trance of the year (imo). Justine sounds beautiful on this track, i prefer the build up to when the melody is dropped. can't wait to get my hands on this one

I've only heard the KvA mix so far, and I like that one a lot. I'm looking forward to A&B's version.

Taken from Anjunabeats forum:

N.B. Unfortunately Oceanlab has been pushed back to May/June 2006 :-( We appreciate this will disappoint many of you and we are sorry for the delay but this is not a decision we have taken lightly. The simple truth is that we have not been able to get a version finished in time that all of us are happy with. And so we couldn't get it out far enough ahead of Alone Tonight to avoid competing with ourselves on the two records. Now we have to focus on finishing the A&B artist album as our first priority - we know a lot of you are eagerly awaiting that one too and we don't want to let you down. Thank you for your patience.

So we have to wait long time before this will be released...

I was critical on first hearing of this. But i heard it live on Sat and it sounded fantastic. The vocals definatly make it. Bit like Sky Falls Down.

Along with Alone TOnight A&B have two big commercial smashes on their hands i feel

Posted by Reactic on Jan-17-2006 10:38:

original mix is pretty nice, better than the remixes
