Oceanlab - Sirens of the sea (orginal mix)

Anyone heard this beauty yet? Great vocal trance at its best! love it!

Heres a small recording from TATW85 (yesterday) as it was played for the first time publicly!

http://hem.bredband.net/b215244/ola...rginal-tatw.mp3

enjoy! release has been said to be somewhere in the beginning of 2006. This is a must buy tune!

can you tell me what exactly did you like ?

Sorry but for my opinion i think there's nothing to compare with the older "Oceanlab" tracks !!!!!

But you know what ? i'll try to listen to it over and over for a few times

Wasn't this on Anjunabeats 3 earlier in the year? Anyway, great track IMO.

Yes it was. I did not like it at all.

The Kyau vs. Albert Vocal Mix was on Volume 3. This is the first time that we've heard the Original (although Above & Beyond have played it in sets a few times, these have not been recorded).

Out beyond the water's edge,
Far out past the coral ledge,
Underneath the diamond dancing lights,

Chase the world from far below,
Silent sleeping indigo,
Drifting down into the endless life,

Yeah, the meaning of the vocals is not exactly groundbreaking, but the way they are written and performed - it's like poetry.

Brilliant song, either out 12th December, or early January (we're not sure).

take my hand take my hand, yeah take my hand
follow me follow me, yeah let's go

to the sand to the sand, the purest sand
into the sea into the sea yeah let's go

leaving reasons far behind
nothing here is cruel or kind
only your desire to set me free

?
?

let us be the sirens of the sea

i cannot resist your heart?

shit tune

kyau vs. albert mix was semi decent

Posted by Eagle` on Oct-26-2005 18:56:

Sirens of the Sea is def less cheasier than Satellite, but that's the only decent thing I can say about this tune tbh, haven't heard KvA remix tho.

offtopic:Could be I understood it wrong but did he say they've been working for the past 2 years on this track, if that's true they should consider changing jobs imo

Posted by sleepydragon on Oct-26-2005 19:02:

i think above and beyond r just getting worse with time they used to be at least half respectable

It's about baby sea turtles! How cool is that!?

(or it's just about love)

I actually like this tune from what I've heard. I own "Anjunabeats Vol 3" and enjoy the Kyau vs. Albert remix, but I just heard the original on their show and it's really nice as well. I definitely think that this is a better song than satellite, i'de say it's up there with Sky Falls Down, which I think is the best original oceanlab song.

I dont think most people on this site know quality when they hear it. Listen closely to the music in this song and you will hear nothing but quality!

Very good track.

8.5/10

I don't think most people on this site knows quality when they hear it. That's why they hype and praise cheesy low budget vocal crap like this. Just what they did when Armins Shiver was released.
That is my opinion.

ill take a satellite (alex odden flipside vocal mix)

Posted by Floorfiller on Oct-27-2005 05:12:

ears i'm sorry...i'll never do that to you again...

ok seriously now. when i listen to this song...this is why i don't like it. first, the instrumentation isn't very creative. the bassline is about as generic as it gets. there isn't much besides that and i feel like above & beyond have felt restricted in what they can do because of the vocals in the tune. as for the vocals, they don't seem to be very well written for a couple of reasons. one, and this is obviously a personal preference, i don't find them very interesting...i don't like this metaphor they are trying to use and once again seems very generic to me. there doesn't seem to be any genuine emotion to them and they've stretched to create this artificial metaphor. second, the notes of the vocals are awkward. i'm assuming that's justine sussia singing and she does have a beautiful voice, but like any instrument...vocals are a combination of notes and whoever told her to sing those notes really should not be giving any kind of input on a song. the fact that the tonal contruction of the lyrics is awkward just adds once again to the very generic feeling to the song for me and it comes across as a tune that was put together rather quickly and without any real meaning and creative ambition.

so there...i'm not trying to be elitist and just hate on whatever...i'm telling you what i don't like, but of course all of you that like it will just ignore what i've said bla bla bla and fail to realize any of my argument...the case being that even if you disagree with my points...atleast perhaps you could admit that they are valid reasons for not liking a tune...

Worst lyrics from Oceanlab yet. The tune otherwise is alright though.

difficult for me to judge... as it's only a short sample that doesn't even include the main chorus, or any breakdowns and buildups, sounds pretty good so far though... be keen to hear the full track

Posted by Epic Star on Oct-27-2005 08:26:

I like it very much! Original is much better than Kyau vs. Albert Remix.

To be honest with you, it doesn't really have much in the way of breakdowns, and no particular chorus as such either - but if you want to listen to the whole song, go to the Anjunabeats website, and click on the red bar at the bottom. That will stream their radio show from this week, and Sirens Of The Sea is the second track in.

Posted by dorifuto on Oct-27-2005 10:54:

thanks Chris, heard the whole track now... I can say I prefer it over the Kyau vs. Albert mix.. somewhat refreshing and more uplifting.

I believe any and all versions of this track suck sheeeeot bad just like every other Oceanlab track or any track with Suissa in as the vocalist.

Just my opinion though.
