at dinner tonight (dj sighting)
i was at nobu 57.
i saw tom hanks.
i saw erick morillo. i wasn't sure if it was him so i walked up to his table, apologized for the intrusion and asked, are you erick morillo? he said yes (kinda hard to tell in the dark lighting there). i spoke to morillo for a few seconds, told him i was a fan of his, he thanked me and asked me my name. i responded in kind and he said he was pleased to meet me. i apologized for interrupting his dinner and he said it was ok, not to worry.
i didn't have my camera, but i always feel bad about asking celebrities for photos because they want to just enjoy themselves as a regular person.
so conclusion: nobu 57 is a good place to see celebrities. the food and dessert was excellent.
Not a DJ sighting but saw that rapper/producer Pharrel at the Duomo in Milan yesterday shopping at Gucci. He was really cool and not all gangstarish..
Edit: oh yeah I take that back I just remembered him calling my girlfriend baby girl....
your night is a joke compared to mine.

Yeah man, how did you afford that place? I'd like to check it out sometime, but I hear it's redic expensive. It's pretty well known for being a celeb hangout.

| Originally posted by trunks1022 i was surprised about prices... especially considering nobu has a lot of seafood, the prices weren't as high as in some other places. i usually assume 30-40 for seafood entrees, but you can get entrees for about 20 at nobu 57. i had already eaten earlier in the night so had sushi pieces instead. only spent about 30 bucks there last night |
im not a nobu fan...its a scene..
i prefer yama on irving!
yo ryan i got ur stuff lets meet up or some shit

| Originally posted by trunks1022 heh earliest you can reserve is one month to the day you want. i do not suggest a few hours before. we walked up at 10 pm and we still had to wait about 15 minutes for two spots to open up at the sushi bar |
who was he with?
lol.. i totally would have been on tom hanks like stink on cheese.
i woulda been like "VICTOR NOVORSKI I LOVE YOU OMG BBQ~!!!!!!"

a dab of wassabi is the usual in an "ala carte" selection - also evident in rolls. however yama is notorious for their soft-shell crab, white tuna, toro, and of course their eel.
it gets my vote as best sushi in nyc. Trust me I've ate at plenty of sushi spots, nothing ever compares to yama!
For those AYCE Sushi people, there is an AYCE Sushi rest. by my place in the Upper West Side. It's called Kinoko on 72nd St and Amsterdam (across the street from Gray's Papaya)
If anyone wants to go one day after work, I'd be up for it.
morillo was at a table with about 5 other gentlemen.
perhaps the criticisms of the sushi is warranted, but this is nobu 57, not the old school one. to brian, yeah i'll definitely try other places in the city. that's what's awesome about ny... i still enjoyed the place last night
After game 2 of the world series sun, me and my bro went to some bar/club called level in chicago and saw Brian Urlacher there, didn't want to bother him since he was prob celebrating one of the few wins they are gonna get this year
