Trance is not pop, STFU.....
I have come accross many posts stating that many relatively popular trance DJ's and the music they make are 'pop.' In that it's just NOOB trance, cheese, blah blah blah. I have not come accross a person for SO long that even KNOWS what trance IS when I tell them what I listen to. I don't even understand what the fuck some people are talking about. Trance is not pop, STFU.
guy
You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals, so let's do it like they do on the discovery channel.
*chortle*

BT is pop. yet ppl still adore him.
One does not get very far listening to this stuff when they worry about what everybody else is saying about it. You should eventually realize that you have no problem listening to dance music that is relatively more popular than the stuff that passionate fans dig into obscurity for. There is nothing wrong with not being that person that follows the small niche or digs deep into obscure music. Lotsa kids on this site would have you believe differently, as if you are somehow dumber or have a shitty personality just for enjoying a big song, but if you dont learn to get over it then you will grow to be bitter about your choice in music.
Listening to EDM is like following a minor league sport, and in that minor leage trance leads in popularity, comparing trance's popularity to the major league world of pop music isnt really relavant when we are talking to each other as EDM fans and not as mainstream music listeners. The truth is that trance is the pop of EDM, but that is ok, there is nothing wrong with enjoying it as long as you like it for the sound and not for the bandwagon.
When you go to a party full of kids enjoying the sound that you are into you will forget all about us people online who dont like it because we won't be there, so why worry about what haters on the internet have to say about your music? Trance is pop music from the perspective of your knowledgable EDM fans, other styles usually have a larger portion of people who learn alot about the style rather than just show up to the parties and never bother learning anything about what they hear. People that listen to other stuff get bitter about this because they would rather their chosen style be the one that has the top exposure because they think that it is better. It really is a matter of what music is playing the most often at the most places. Trance is popular because in the EDM sector is gets repeatedly pounded into the most memories and people who prefer other music get sick of hearing trance all the time so they whine about it sucking. You just have to get over it though and like what you like, there will always be people who criticize your music choice.
