So is there any set out there that can compare to ASOT 200?

This has to be the best mix in trance history IMO, ive been to so many after hour partys, seen so many djs, but this mix is just non-stop perfection. Is there anything similar to this out there?

I tend to like sets where I hear more than 2 minutes of a track. I will admit it was a testament to Ableton's abilities.

No, but seriously, I doubt this is "the best" set ever. I think tagging a load of classics together could make anybody think that, but the greatest set ever would have to have some kind of innovation, which this really doesn't.

It's still a good listen though.

Try this. This 74 min mix is awesome, a very talented friend of mine made it with Mixmeister and Ableton Live combined. It's 30 songs, so that means a new song every 2:20 minutes and all very well mixed (and cut). I think he did a better job than Armin.

But this time when i was at his studio he was like, 'let's quickly select the best 30 trance tracks we know, shuffle them and mix them'. It was like an experiment to kinda copy asot 200, but to do it better

Thanks for the suggestions, im downloading the ASOT 182 and the DJ Beffur Track. As for me being a noob, ive been listening to trance since the first Perfecto CD was released (pre-97) in europe and been listening since. Hardly a noob =) To this site tho, i am! =)

I'm going to give my all time top 50 in 160 minutes a go on Ableton, about halfway through the track selection process, selecting the order is going to be a nightmare

However, if u like the Armin style, asot can be usefull to hear a few new tunes. But as an entire set, there alot better stuff out there, with more variety!

asot200 is a great demo for people who wanna know what trance is and have never been exposed to electronic, probably the best demo, but that's about it...
