Clublife: Button It

http://standingonthebox.blogspot.co.../button-it.html

"At virtually every club in New York -- with exceptions based upon 'genre' -- there are two distinct facets of the dress code which bouncers are called upon to enforce at all times. The first, and most obvious, occurs at the front door. I've previously worked primarily as an 'inside guy,' but now that I'm up front more frequently, I'm consistently baffled by people who choose to approach the door wearing anything but their best clothes. Once -- just once -- I'd like to be the guy walking up and down the line with the megaphone, asking, repeatedly, "What the fuck were you thinking when you left the house? Don't you own a mirror?""

what a fantastic blog. very well-written too!!

i loved this part:

Guidos, however, tend to enjoy lifting weights. They also like the results they get from injecting themselves with steroids. Unfortunately for them, they rarely ever train their legs at the gym, so all that upper body development is of little use in a practical sense, but I digress.
