What is Trance Nation 2001 like?

My friend recomended me Trance Nation 2001, but I'm not sure if I should buy it (its not in any stores around here, and I can't find a sample off the internet, also my friend lost his copy )

Is it quite a good CD? I like trance that is vocal-less, probably the only trance song with vocals that I like is Ghosts, which happens to be on this CD, but most others make me cringe.

So has anyone heard this CD, and is it quality vocal-less trance? cheers for any help you can give

Ghosts is a lovely song.

I would say at the time this was the worst of the Trance Nation but it is still a good compliation, just the ones before it were infinitely better.

The first half of cd1 has quite a few vocals, 2nd cd hardly any.

Cut out the best of the tunes here I think, Virtuoso is a masterpiece! The last good trance nation CD (the 2000 series blew sooo badly before it and then its been cack ever since this release)

Definatley worth a purchase though, Mr Corsten did a lot better on this than a lot of his mix cd outings. Should be on amazon.co.uk

Tenshi

This is one of the first trance CD's I ever bought, It has its moments but I find when I listen to it now I have to skip past alot of songs that I no longer like, loving you is a good example, that song is pretty gay.

Voodoo is another gay song, and not many people will agree with me, but I also think firewire sucks ass. I wouldnt buy it if I had to do it all over again, but you might like it, I litened to it over and over nonstop for a long time when I first bought it.

10. Needlejuce - System 7

Why the fuck do you see this track everywhere credited to System 7? I know for a fact it's by System F (aka Ferry Corsten) and not System 7 (British techno experiment act).

Oh, and what an awful cover (like all the Trance Nations really):

Have left the best stuff in, it's very good & well mixed. Last of the good ones ferry did as he had a say in the tracklist here.

i'd reccommened trance nation 2 as well, also mixed by ferry himself

Posted by Streakfury on Nov-01-2005 01:00:

Trance Nation 4 was the first trance compilation I bought. Man, what a CD. They dont make them like that anymore.

Posted by isoterra on Nov-01-2005 03:03:

love it, my fave TN cd. cd2 epitomises the 2001 prog trance sound i used to love, and cd1 is full of memorable anthem moments. gutted i gave it away to an ex gf of mine & never saw it back

Have disk 1...

Now just need the other half

Posted by Omega_Blue on Nov-02-2005 17:49:

This is a great comp, imo... one of the first ones i ever got. Disc 1 is pretty good, anthemy type stuff... I especially like how they put tilt's going home mix instead of the tiesto remix of flesh

but....

The first 6 tracks of disc two are fucking class. i'm gonna look for all of these tracks on vinyl

Posted by tctitan on Nov-02-2005 18:19:

ok i think the 1st TN owned all of them, the 2nd best being TN3.

Posted by halexander837 on Dec-21-2005 20:52:

i forget to mention...

i have TN 2. Disk 1 anyway

Posted by Subtle on Dec-21-2005 21:25:

this is actually not the best trance nation compilation, 1, 2, 3, and 2002 are better imo, Trance Nation 1 is definitely a CD worth owning..

i miss the Trance Nation compilations

Posted by varun on Dec-22-2005 05:25:

Was a decent CD but nowhere close to the first Trance Nation back in '99. Trance Nation 2002 is also actually quite good with an impressive tracklist. Trance Nation 2003 is where it all went to absolute shit.

nobody ever mentions trance nation 4.. the first disc has so many classics on it..

Posted by NightCrawllure on Dec-22-2005 05:37:

I thought it was a pretty good CD, it was my favorite out of all of the trance nation's.

Hmm... TN4 Disc 1 was crammed full of the recent biggest hits to my memory, Zombie Nation, Storm, Darude etc. Some good tracks, but the smart mix was Disc 2. Gave the album some longevity beyond three minute hook monsters.

Posted by Xtatica on Dec-22-2005 12:38:

Yep trance Nation 2 was a hell of a lot better - although nothing compares to the euphoria collection IMO
