Anyone going to the NYC Halloween Parade
Barosoap and I plan to attend. I don't know if we're dressing up or not, as her costume might not be warm enough to be outdoors for a long time.
i went there last year and it was absolute crap, and massively long too

i thought it was great.... ill be in it too haha.... the dark angel with the white pants, white hat, black bandana
teh gaiye!
Oh man the parade was so much fun, I walked the whole distance in it. I was a hippy with a huge afro wig. There were so many awsome costumes, maybe I'll post some pics later.
ehh it may have been gay but I thought it was cool...my first time really going. although I spent half the time being crowded on the corner of 18th and 6th, phoning my friend blitzy, who was also at the parade but STUCK directly across the street and couldn't come over to us, POOH!!! Then for the next two hours Drew and I were being pushed by this spanish family with 4 little kids trying to crawl under the phone booths in order to get to and over the barricades. It got madd annoyed, and several ppl next to us just left. Then the family was told by the police to get BACK behind the barricade, and I couldn't stop smirking at them. idiots. but anyway saw some VERY imaginative costumes...although i didnt get why so many of the floats had GIANT BIRDS...**shruggs**
we were gona march and brought our costumes to school/work...but decided not to at the last minute. next year, MARCH! better to march than to get caught in the crowds lol.
incidentally while on the subway ride home, drew decided to just throw on his costume (he was a doctor with a lab coat, stethoscope, and id). The people around us started grinning at him, including the train conductor, who actually came out to joke and ask if he did house calls. ahahha!
He noticed that Drew actually had a REAL ID...and then inquired about his education. When he found out Drew was actually going to school for a health-related career, they started chatting a little. Turns out the train conductor was a member of a Medical Assistance Team who had just done a tour down in New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina relief. We were just awed. what an interesting night. heh.
I wasn't sure if some of the people were marching up 6th Ave in their costumes, or just headed to a normal night at Avalon
bah i just got drunk and skipped the paradng part...bed time.....
