Tiesto admits defeat! Old news?

Take a look at his website...

I also just found out that I am number 2 this year in DJ Mag's top 100 list. I would have loved to be the winner for 4 years in a row but if there is one DJ who deserves it for everything he has done for dance music in the last 10 years, it's got to be Paul van Dyk. I am really happy for him and wish him all the best.

I'm not a Tiesto basher by any means...but I thought this was big news and I do think it is time for a new number one. But does paul van dyk deserve it?

No... he doesn't deserve it.
Ferry Corsten does.

Not this year, he sure as hell doesn't.

Strange how the quality of these top jocks sometime seems to run inverse to their ranking.

Nice words from Tiesto.

I think so too. But...I think that people's opinions of who should be number one, comes from the individuals taste. For instance, I don't like progressive so I don't really consider Sasha for number one.

I think they should re-word the poll. Because you CANNOT be number one in this poll without producing and becoming increasingly popular because of your productions.

Honest to god.
I thought Armin was going to win this year. His radio show combined with his booming popularity and HUGE ASS following in the United States should have made in a shoo-in for the number one deejay.
PVD is a nice pick but his live sets have been disappointing for me.
Ferry is the deejay's deejay. Respected among his peers, should have won it this year.

I would have rather seen gabriel and dresden or markus schulz in the top spot, they've done much more this year. Also, sasha will be up there in a few years when people catch on to his new techy genre.

edit: ferry is the man of course and would have been a great choice, but like pvd, not enough this year.

Gabriel and Dresden are too cool ass mofos.
I even smoked weed with them when they were here.

Involver was 2004.. but after the 2004 poll i think.

And you can't b1sh if you voted PvD for #1.

Nothing against G&D + Markus..but being #1 doesnt come after a few produced song and a few good gig...they are rookies among the rest of top DJs. But Ya, they will be top ranked DJs soon.

Hence the apparently. Personally I am indifferent to all of this nonsense regarding him.

Posted by Ian on Nov-01-2005 10:53:

When will you people learn, all it takes to get into the poll is some votes & a decent campaign, we proved that with mikey, if you honestly think pvd, tiesto, ferry, armin or g&d are the best that music has to offer, you're either deluded, related to them or just thick.
