Sigh...another year and another Grant Hill Injury For the orlando Tragic.well at least i can look forward to some great Steve Francis soundbites and to see our first round pick play...oh wait never mind

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Nov-02-2005 01:05:

thanks vern for doing this...

i didn't feel like making a new thread for the new season .. hahaha ..

im psyched .. man i know this is the season when the thrones of power are shifted in the west ..

teams like minnesota, phoenix, and the lakers are going to have a hard time getting a spot in the playoffs, with golden state, denver, and utah vying for spots .. you can laugh at me about golden state, but i think this is their year to shine, barring anything happens to davis and richardson .. that is a deadly combo there ..

san antonio and seattle have their locks, and the pacific looks wide open to win with sacramento, the lakers, and golden state looking strong ..

the clippers can look strong, IF elton brand stays healthy and motivated .. i know many people have forgotten how easy he can put up 20-10 numbers .. a lineup of maggette, brand, cassell, and mobley isn't that bad ..

i can't comment on sacramento, because i don't know if brad miller can stay healthy for a full 82 games, how motivated shareef is, and how much ego bonzi wells left behind in memphis .. bibby and peja look good ...

oh yeah ... go NOOK hornets .. hhahhahahahahaha ... i question their trade for mason and gave way big cat .. that just takes away the interior prescence for the hornets .. maybe more minutes for the birdman andersen ???

oh yeah .. san antonio sports talk shows are soo hyped about the new lineup of the spurs, that they are proclaiming an 82-0 season for them ... hahhahaha

go sixers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to T.J Ford on his successful return from that neck injury he suffered, kid was looking sharp.Leopold...your Hornets are showing signs of life,BTW J.R smith is looking so much more improved from last year

Posted by Kapedano on Nov-02-2005 04:26:

Spurs win on Ring night, my boys are lookin good but i wouldnt be suprised if they lose 5-7 games on the opening 3 weeks.

now eddie .. we don't want another 'detroit fiasco' going on in miami, so keep your shorts on, and no badgering artest, mkay ??

anyways .. yeah .. the hornets looked mighty good today against a decent team the kings ... if smith plays consistent, paul distributes the ball well, brown gets his double doubles, david west gets more minutes, and nachbar hits his three's, the hornets could be a dangerous team .. they have a decent 8/9 man rotation with butler, andersen, claxton, and vroman running the bench.

and yeah .. smith looks a lot better than last year .. we will see .. i dont want to say he will start scoring 20+ ppg, because that's a little too far right now .. he does have the potential .

what a game ..

you can bet your shorts that if you book dallas the second game of a doubleheader, they are going to promise you that the game is going to run over midnight, CST of course .. in the east, it's 1 am .. hahhahaa ...

dallas looked average the first 3, then pulled it out in the 4th .. i think phoenix has to start strong, or they will have some rough waters ahead .. losing 3 starters ( johnson, richardson, stoudemire[injury] ) is tough for a team.

Defently. But i like Dallas more then Phoenix because Dallas can play some defence. Suns are like the old Colts of NFL. It will get them on the playoffs but not too far.

I don't follow NBA as much as baseball or football, but I do admire the Dallas Mavericks and I'll always root for the home team, Washington Wizards. Go Mavs, Go Wizards (even though Bullets was a cooler name)

knicks will once again field a really crappy team. the nba: it's fantastic

michael redd torches the nets for 41.

this guy is going to blow it up this season. they keep making the comparisons that richard hamilton is the closest to reggie miller. well, michael redd is the closest to ray allen right now. reggie miller was the best at moving without the ball, and ray allen has a sweet jumper.

now we have to fight who's better :

michael redd or ray allen ?

that 3 he drained at the end of the 4th on philly was so beautiful, it could win a beauty pagaent.

Predictions

Atlantic: Nets
Central: Pistons
Southeast: Heat
Northwest: T'Wolves
Pacific: Suns
Southwest: Spurs

EAST: Heat
WEST: Spurs

Ring: Heat

Hell yeah, Michael Redd and Kobe Bryant turned a five dollar bet into 75 last night. Thanks guys.

I only wish that Redd had actually gone to the Cavs. I think a year or two ago Allen was definitely head and shoulders above Redd, but Michael has come unto his own in the past season, and with him being the only real "star" left on the Bucks, he either shines (like he's doing) or the team sinks.

Gotta support the Ohio boy, even if he didn't come "home" this season.

Speaking of which, and I know that it was only the NO/OK City Hornets, but the Cavs were pretty impressive in the win last night. The Cavs look like they might actually have the perimeter game and support cast for LeBron and Co. to be pretty damn good this season.

Redd
speakin of the Bucks, I only saw highlights but Bogut had a pretty good start to his NBA career, Bucks are gonna be a force to watch in the future.
subject brought on in work is who would you rather have to start a team, D.Wade or Lebron
speakin of Flash, 2night vs Pacers

so hows it goin Knicks fans

Posted by verndogs on Nov-03-2005 21:33:

Larry Brown played a rookie on the first game of the season?!?!?!

seriously, I'm stunned

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Nov-03-2005 22:08:

feel sorry for the knicks ..
they really don't have an organized team right now .. then again, what's there to look forward to when your front court consists of antonio davis, eddy curry, and matt barnes with maurice taylor and jerome james riding the bench .. should have played malik rose more ..

and kudos to chris duhon for scoring the first triple-double of the season .. maybe he needs to get hit in the head more ...

wow I hate Ron Artest and the Pacers
he just happened to put his foot under Shaq when shaq fell on it and twisted ankle
we brought out our good ol "Ref You Suck "chant because oh boy did that guy deserve it..
Wade almost tied it up at the end
Im just a bit relieved all this happened early in the season
