Trance radio shows in Toronto

Before the vast world of MP3 i used to be a radio junky. The one problem is that (for the most part) radio sucks major ass. Mainstream pop dominating the daytime airwaves. Stations that used to try and be cutting edge (remember Energy 108 in the early 90's?) are now totally engrossed in cheddar.

Despite this however, we in Toronto DO have it pretty good compared to most North American cities. Electronic music gets large representation "after hours" on 100.7 and 89.5 (and sometimes 101.3). This the "Global Groove Network" does a good job giving us a wide range of electronic styles and info.

SO where's the trance?

there is not many shows dedicated to spinning trance sadly. Here is a short list of the radio shows that specialize in trance in Toronto. I'm hoping that we can expand on this!

WEDNESDAY nights - 89.5 12-4 am ----> Definatly the hypest trance show on the airwaves. And basically the Only one that is exclusively trance.

THURSDAY nights on 100.7 .12am + ---> The global groove countdown which is pretty cool and i think they broadcast some essential mixes every once in a while.

SUNDAY on 105.5 (yorku radio) - 2am -5am ---- > been a few years since i've tuned into the Fully Charged radio show. But it was really good. Not sure if it is still on.

Thats it for now any one else know any shows in Toronto that play TRANCE?

1grrove.com is awesome.
They play all kinds of genres. Lots of variety.
Mark Oliver's set this week was awesome....check it out if your interested.

Hey!! check out my show...every Sunday...from 6-10pm. On http://www.rhythmnationradio.com .....I'm also tryin to hook up with another fellow T.A. and see if we can get an hour or more per week.. on a weekday on a college radio station. Dropping some sick ass TRANCE in the middle of the day!!!!

FM radio

Yeah 1groove.com is pretty good. They used to be on 89.5(u of t radio) overnight but they lost their conract with U of T. Global Groove now airs from 89.5fm.

I was specifically talking about fm radio stations in the area that spin trance shows.

There are plenty of great radio cyberstations out there. I particularly like digitally imported , Hearing innercity live last night on ID&T was pretty cool tho.

You know what guys, all the radio stations mentioned above are true and good. I hear them all. The Trance part, I'm a little bit pissed about. They should have it more often. Like everday. Why not. I mean it is the SICKEST music in the WORLD.
And one more thing. They should have a radio station playing TRANCE, Progressive, house and staff like that, all FUCKEN DAY. Like 103.5 and 107.9 play there fucken shit music all day, pop, and rock, Britney and fucken R & B and fucken rap and shit like that.

Its NOT FARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
