Creating Bell/Chime sound
Hey everyone. I'm just trying to create a bell/chime sound using some VST, but I can't seem to get the right sound out. I'm using 3 triangle waveforms with lots of reverb. I have numerous VST's so if anyone could help me try to create a sound that'd be great. I'm trying to create a somewhat dark yet uplifting club tune.
Hey. Try filtered square waves
.
Cheers,
Zac
Or samples
Samples, or I actually made a pretty good one with a maelstrom once...
You really need to use either samples, FM synthesis, or some combination of the two for those types of sounds. Subtractive synths don't cut the mustard.
Some slight ring modulation can help you get those disharmonic overtones as well. But yeah, FM or samples is really the way to go.
FM and RM can do it on substractive synths..
So you think I could get a good sound on FM7 or Absynth 3?
I once created a real nice Bell/Chime sound with the fruity Dx10. Though i lost it ill try again

Detuning, FM, RM, anything to emulate that screwed up overtone series.
