taken as pick #1 in draft.

The NBA must really be desperate for pure centers.

I remember watching this kid in the NCAA last year, he looks like such a tool, albeit he does have decent big man skills.

He's also a rich mofo now D:

The team payed 24million for him, don't know what his income is but I'd say it' be up to the 24million mark aswell.. plus all the cash flow from sponsers :S!

if they are hot like lauren then yes

with the start that he's had, he's got the potential to be a powerful force in the nba
as for shooting, take into account that he is still a rookie. usually it takes a year for them to start shooting more consistently out of college. instead of pissing up, he now has to shoot 1 billion shots a day for the rest of his career

ps. i love tall bitches

Last time i checked the "official" map of Australia, as in the propper (Made in Australia) map that you get from the Federal Map & Navigation Bureau of Orienteering (FMNBO) there was no longer any space in the Key legend that would fit a little picture of a basketball, i believe it had been replaced by a cute little drawing of a soccer ball (thats right, i said "SOCCER" not football). So in response to your suggestion that this really tall white kid that can jump (although he doesnt need to jump cuz he is so freaking tall) can put B.BAll back on the map in Australia. I doubt it.

Nothing against basketball, just felt the urge to rant.

P.S. he is a pretty unreal bBall player indeed.

and you think by being an Orienteerer that adds any weight at all to your rant??

quite the opposite!

I never claimed to be a member of the FMNBO as they are an elite government organisation that the government relies on hiring only the best operatives in their field. I personally never decided to take such a career path as it would involved assigments such as mapping IKEA in Vic Gardens. Hell no, fuck that. I would rather spend the 10 years that would take listening to tunes and doing what i do. whatever that is.

I think my rant was extremely credible and accurate. If needed i may have to respond soon with some sort of arrogant cocky John Howard style rebuttle that only really entails him saying "i dont have to tell you anything or answer your questions as i am all mighty supreme MIGHTY MOUSE side kick followed by that irritation Johnny chuckle/laugh that leads to my vomit and therefor making this city arromaticly defficient to play games such as basketball.

i think you've begun your own category of posting (see: The new generation: Thread starting whores) the annoying political reference at all cost type of posting thread

van exel is overrated...
Besides, he's only gonna be playing off the bench after parker parker and bowen anyway. Exel has been in the league how many years and he still needs to learn how to defend.

Posted by 00soups00 on Nov-06-2005 21:38:

van exel USED to be a gun..

problem is nowadays i have NFI who some of the players are...

MVWP award will go to Dirk Nowitzki

(mvwp = most valuable white player award)

you're wrong. With the beast injured in pheonix this season, the MVWP will be steve nash. No white boy can come close to him.

yeah, I know he won't have a perminant target above the rim, but nash still has the ability to fill in 30 points per night. His assist per game may drop by 3-5 per game, but that still leaves him with a respectable point guard average in that category, but his individual scoring will soar this season. Believe me, and I'm not saying this because I wanna see a canuck do well for himself again, but Nash is uncontested as the best point guard, and easily the best whitey in the league.

I mean, all you have to do is look at last year as a prime example of how much he means to that team. The season prior to Nash's arrival, pheonix was a team full of althletes, who would try to turn every game into a track meet, but without someone controlling the flow of the game, they couldn't win ball games. You can't win in crunch time when the fast break is taken away by defensive hustle, and without anyone controlling the ball, their halfcourt offensive sets were non-exsistant.

Look at Dallas as well. Once Nash left, the team struggled to find a pure point guard who could get them into their sets and play them at least at a comparable level. And yet, now that he's gone, so are the days when Dallas was lighting up defenses for 110+ points per game.

Even last season when Nash arrived, I know the NBA doesn't keep stats on this, but if you were to look at the plus-minus of team points vs scored against when nash was on the floor to off, it would have been the largest discrepency in the league. A testiment to his 'pass first, team first' style of play. He moves the ball so well, he makes everyone he plays with that much better, and turns a team with maybe 3 offensive weapons into one with 7 or 8. In fact it wouldn't surprise me to find kurt thomas playing the best season of his career when nash is spending every night driving the lane, then dropping dimes down low to him for open dunks and lay-ups.

No other position in basketball can ever make that much of a difference unless they are clearly hall of fame material....Both Dirk and Nash are not at that level yet.

havent been keeping up with the nba, but i watched the past playoffs a bit and was really impressed by ginobli. quite the effective player when driving to the basket and i reckon another candidate for MVWP. didnt he win the playoffs MVP award?

haha the clippers are on top of their division with 3-0... their best position on the ladder ever?

How long is Stoudamire out for?? Also when did Joe Johnson become a hawk? And Quentin Richardson is gone as well. Thats about 50 ppg lost there already right?

you would think so stampy but not really. richardson was a one trick pony hoikin up threes at will. new guy james jones does that job now and with a little less restraint. they brought in raja bell to replace johnson, not as good offensively but a defensive monster. marion and nash will pick up the slack left by amare and really not much lost in the end. look at their box scores they're still droppin 110 plus a game.

err i should have started with an executive summary ey nath.
