Paul van Dyk & Edgar V @ Space 11-4-05 Review + pics
It's 8:05 in the morning and I just came back from the most INSANE night ever.
I picked up ambs and headed to Space, where she got our presale tickets in the upstairs office. This time there was no real line to wait in for entrance to the club, just the relocated will call. We got in right away and Edgar was playing his more housier set. As always he got the crowd moving. Mel and Lis went out of their minds when Naline & Kane - Open Your Eyes (Markus Schulz & Elevation remix) came on. A tune I was rather not bothered by...until later...was MURK - Dark Beat (Southside remix??) Edgar also played 2 of Arturo's tracks. Great work my friend. The crowd was really loving them!
And finally...the newly crowned #1 DJ in the world came into the booth and waved. These were all songs few or none of us recognized, but here are the ones we COULD ID:
U2 - Where the Streets have no name (NU NRG remix)
Enmass - So Please
Second Sun - Playground (NU NRG remix)
^Holy fuckin' SHIT I can't believe he played these two.
Wolfsheim - Wundervoll (Blank and Jones remix/PVD edit)
^me, Damon & Felipe were going berserk in the 2nd floor when this came on.
Mr. Sam - Lyteo (Rank 1 remix)
^Mel IDd this one before me. Great job, lil sis!
The track selection, minus 1 song was top notch, and that song was PVD - Time of our lives (What's worse, it was the fuckin' UK mix)
The ONLY major bad thing about the night is that the sound died, and we had nothing but the crowd going for around...2, 3 minutes? PVD didn't seem to know what happened (Edgar or Art, can you guys fill us in on what happened?) But soon enough, PVD got the sound back and restarted his set. And he just laid it out NASTY but SO good. Nothing but energy from beginning to end. Crowd going insane. Tonight there wasn't much of a TA turnout which was VERY unusual, but let it be said (and I apologize in advance, Colleen and Amy) that if you missed this set @ Space, you missed one of the best (if not THE BEST) PVD set ever. He showed no mercy and took no prisoners. I had an absolute GREAT time. Many, many thanks to ambs for getting me my ticket. Great seeing Damon, Art, Flo, Karen, Lis, Anthony, VADE (don't know your real name dude), Ivan, Felipe, Mike, Jasin, Natalia, Renzo, Al, Adrian. lost_in_forests introduced himself, but I was way too trashed to do any intros. I think Damon introduced me to nftked? Can't remember. My brain is anything but a brain now. but it was fuckin' WORTH it. DA MAN owned Space tonight...the only other time I can recall having THIS much fun at one of his sets was 7/26/02, the VERY FIRST time I ever saw him live. This is the biggest review I have ever written, but I would have it no other way when DA MAN is concerned.
Paul van Dyk
#1 DJ in the world.
And tonight was a prime example of why he deserves that accolade, ladies and gentlemen.
Pics coming before Sunset today.
SALUD.
the tracks were flat out amazing. i think i could only ID 6 of them. The others i had never heard before. Each new hard techy beat he dropped the crowd got owned. I got some videos and pics i will post later (late sunday). I am doing a laser show in Jax tonight so i gotta prepare for it.
i dont mean to hate .. but i heard the set never really proggressed and that it had no energy

It was a very fun night indeed, however in my opinion, I think his set in August was much better than this one. I still had an amazing time, however musically, nothing can beat his August set! Edgar brought it nasty like always, and next time....just let him open AND close..don't bring in anyone else!!!!
It was great to see everyone again (i hadn't been out in a while!) and hanging out with the group at "our box!" I had a really, really good time and can't wait until the next one. DA???? Where were you? We never saw you! Manny......thought you were going?
And, BTW, thank you again Ivan!!!
You are the best!!!!!!
PVD nocked the walls down , his track list was top notch... he has never let me down, and the mix of people in the club had a good vibe, you could tell that everyone was there to see PVD, not to just stand there and act like hot shit.....
I know I am going to get slammed for this ......
But as for space they let me down, this was my first time there and the set up of the club was lacking, the people who work there all have sticks up there ass, and the will call ticket set up was bull shit, going up to that little ass office, what was that.... space reminds me of a old NYC club ( ie: sound factory)....
I had a great time , PVD is one of the best DJs in the world , and the vide was good, but the only way I would go back to space is if a nother top notch DJs was playing the.....
Luv to all

p.s I will post pics later

Wow! What a night. This was the first time I ever saw PVD @ Space. His set was amazing and the crowd was going nuts. I didn't get to meet an TA's, but oh well another time. Like DA said, the only problem was when sound was lost for a few minutes. PVD's reactions were pretty funny. Edgar V had a great opening set like always. I wasn't able to stay for PVD's entire set which sucked but w.e. I still had a good time. Can't wait for the next time he comes around... Pics will come soon

I agree PVD was awesome ! although something turned off, im not sure what it was..5 min of silence ! PVD Rocked Space ! He deserves to be # 1
After Paul was done, George Acosta came on. Right then and there, me and the rest of the crew KNEW he wouldn't be able to even hold a candle, so we booked. Acosta started throwing his fist in the air during his first or second song....
....but no one in the crowd did.
Pics now.

Last night was awesome PVD rocked it. I think his set in August was better though. I had a great time at the box with Doug, Maribel, and Ivan. We rocked that shit hard.
