American girl heading over to Australia for a few months and I want to do it right!!
I'm graduating from my university in December and then I'm heading over to Australia for a few months by myself to basically just party and have a good time. I absoutely love DJs and dancing at clubs and as of right now I have no idea where to go in Australia to find the good places. I have no concrete travel plans (since I'm by myself and can go/do whatever I want), so I'm up to go wherever to find good music! Any suggestions are much appreciated=)

if you are here just to party then stay on the east coast as it pulls in the most internationals and the night life is fairly good. Everywhere in aus there is sun and surf, except the majority of the middle which is just red sand. I think you are probably better to base yourself in a large city and do your thing from there. Dont get caught up in the sydney vs melbourne debate either, just come to both and then decide which you like better
brisbane / surfers paradise - awesome beaches and weather, shit clubs and music (unless you like RnB)
Sydney - awesome beaches and weather (not as good as brisbane / surfers though) a very healthy house / electro / prog / et al, scene; trance hasn't been as healthy lately, but it's picking up with MIKE, Gatecrasher, Randy Katana, coming out and the trancetribe events starting again with an international of our own
cons: watch out for the tool shed and josh van aalst
Melbourne - ok beaches, ok weather (bit too cold for me
) very healthy dance music scene
cons: watch out for vitamin vi and soups
and when you're in Australia watch out for Bogon moths that are known to carry deadly diseases, and Drop Bears whenever you're going bushwalking

cando, i have 2 questions for you;
1. have you ever been to cancun?
and
2. do you use the word 'buzzed' when referring to your innebriated state?
stay home. we all hate americans
come to sydney for gatecrasher on dec 17th! it'll be a blast! stay for NYE and u can dance under the fireworks at Luna Park
a girl? omfghai2u!
lol you guys scared her away.
Haha I'm still here=) I'm hard to get rid of
cool ^_^
have you...
- booked your flight?
- got a general itinerary planned?
- sorted your accomodation?
if you're going to be in sydney on new year's day, i suggest you find yourself a ticket to field day.

haha thanks for the concern, but I do have my flight itinerary finalized and I know I'll be in Sydney for my first 2 days, but from there I dont know yet! I'm doing a work abroad program where I basically live day-to-day from whatever jobs I get -- we'll see what's in store for me!
Thanks for the advice on New Years but i'll actually be in Argentina then -- but Australia soon after that!
If you dare say something like "gday mate" and try to act like you're the most original and funny person on the planet i'm going to put my size 8 foot up your ass.
Enjoy Australia.
