Car Commercials
Has anyone noticed car commercials have some of the nicest Electronic-type music cuts? One example that sticks out at me is a recent commercial for the new Passat, focusing on it's steerable headlights option. A car comes across a bicycler on a dark road and uses it's headlights to light the way for the biker, while a very nice bell melody playhs in the background.
Most American car commercials simply license out pop hits, but some of the luxury lines and foreign companies really go all out to provide nice music for their advertisements. What are some others you have noticed?
Yes!
and i get addicted instantly and look online to see if i can figure out what the name of the song is n shit.
I can never find it and i sit in a dark room for a couple of days and hum the tune till i get sick of it.

So whats the name of this tune for the Passat commercial?
my MIDI production prof makes music for car commercials. I don't know his full name though. will find out. it's usually pretty nice though.
I don't know, I havent received a return email from Volkswagon, but it sounds like just a sound snippet built for the commercial. It's not incredibly complicated, just 5 or 6 instruments, but I do find the song very nice to listen to.
Yea come on bitches i aint got all week. move your ass to teh phone and call those bonkers
the only edm song i can think of is the mr scruff song for the lincoln navigator ...
but yeah .. have noticed it .. seems the advertisers are trying to aim for the younger crowd now ..
Scumfrog - Music Revolution is in an ad for some Chevy commercial, but it doesn't really work for me. Theyre trying to shed the image of 'planned obsolesnce' by suggesting that Chevy has undergone a revolution. I'm not sure I believe it, though I did have an old Lumina that had an engine that wouldn't quit. Too bad the rest of the car fell apart around it.
Theres another awesome one, but I can't place the car or song...It may be the navigatore commercial.
OOO while we're at it you know that movie the transporter. That song that plays right before he gets the flat tire with the chick in the trunk.
I have been dying to get this tune, any of you guys know?
Oh how about that one commercial where all you see is car parts flying in the air like crushed and what not. I like that tune too.
But yet im in the dark room.
best car commercial ever!!!!

Indeed that Singin in the Rain commercial can't be touched, but its the combination of ad and music that makes it awesome
I've always liked the advertising of the Toyota Matrix.

mint royale is omg.
plus, that vocalish sample choon from ford explorer is funky
i dont have a good place to host it, but i think my favorite car commercial ever is that vw jetta one with the guy trying to get to the wedding..."fasten your seatbelts"
gives me inexplicable goosebumps everytime.
The 2nd commercial I mentioned (not the swinging headlights from Volkswagon) was for the Pontiac Torrent and the song is Ringside - Struggle. You can hear the song at Pontiac's website

| Originally posted by Mebot That's a good one. Another Volkswagen commercial I'm fond of is the one where the man and woman are driving through this alley but everything is making music, the windshield wipers, the kid playing basketball, the guy moving boxes. At the end the guy goes "That was weird". simple yet innovative. |
American cars rule the planet.
