Hostels for NYE

I'm getting a bunch of friends together and we're gonna head up to Montreal for New Years. There's 10 of us going and being poor students (that and Celebration tix being $100 ) we were looking at Hostels to stay in.

We've narrowed it down to:

1)Alternative Hostel of Old Montreal

We were also looking at Montreal Youth Hostel but they don't allow outside alcohol in the hostel.

Since we are travelling in such a large group we'd get an entire dorm to ourselves but I'm still worried about the odd people I've heard of in Hostels. I don't think it'll be an issue but if anyone can give me any extra info on either of these places to allay my fears I'd appreciate it

i have no idea. stay in a hotel. get 2 rooms and stick 5 poeple in each one. id be cheap as fuk. like 20 bucks a night if u do that

each.

agreed.. plus it is a hotel.. hostels can be nasty sometimes
