lol...............................
Don't take offence to this, but if you or a friend is going to start a music label, AT LEAST make a decent website or hire someone to make one. It really makes a difference....

Posted by qiushiming on Nov-09-2005 05:18:

some of your music reminds me of old nes games.....happy jumping up and down music

Posted by djlogik on Nov-09-2005 05:26:

lol the intro for the site is nice but then I see the "enter imusiclabel.com" and I think "This isn't going to be a professionally made site." *clicks link* Oh what a surprise!! Looks like a new webdesigner just coded it! If you really want to attract people, either make the whole thing in flash or make it look decent with lots of CSS or DHTML or something to make it appealing to the internet user.

come on dude at least have some of the labels music on and not above & beyonds remix of The Sound of Goodbye

Posted by 3rd Signal on Nov-09-2005 11:41:

hmm the intro looks ok just like logik said but then you notice all the weird side effects...it's not such a problem to design something in photo shop...

Now to a weird question...the samples that you got there, are they samples from the full & finished release?
Cause, for exemple, dj genetix - typhoon sounded really lacking and not full I believe...like it haven't been mastered and mixed well...to be honest I didn't even like it much, some of the synths really sound like they are presets. I believe some more work won't hurt.

OMFG! Hahahahahahahahahahaaha!
This is done with Dance eJay 2! hahaha!
I used it when I was like 11 years old... *oh the shame...*

Somebody PLEASE tell me that the page, label and song is a part of a big (bad) joke, or else I won't be able to sleep tonight!

Posted by hardikaveri on Nov-09-2005 13:10:

and nice prize!!

8 pounds for mp3 album???

Posted by armanivespucci on Nov-09-2005 15:34:

Um...

I hate being a dick, but as a graphic designer, that website is a travesty.

Posted by Low Profile on Nov-09-2005 15:55:

Just a suggestion: If you make a better looking web site people will have more confidence in it's quality and are therefore more likely to purchase some songs (I for one wouldn't trust the page for my credit card number, it just looks really amateurish, and I'm not so sure that security is up-to-par with standards these days, sorry.... )

Oh, and is that song really made with eJay ????

Posted by Storyteller on Nov-09-2005 17:02:

I don't really minde the website, but the music in there... you really can't put that out for sale, seriously.

Posted by djlogik on Nov-09-2005 17:19:

lol definitely sounds like dance ejay 2 ;P

Posted by Storyteller on Nov-09-2005 17:27:

Ah wait, I just read something. You can send in mp3's and cd's of any kind you've made yourself. It's not about quality, just about selling music. this isn't a label, it is a webstore.

Posted by Thois on Nov-09-2005 19:52:

hopeless (not talking about the music, but about the site)... The Flash intro was pretty good though

i thought the "Untitled Document" title was most amateurish

Posted by genetix on Nov-09-2005 22:10:

hey hey

at least it got you all looking..hey it's new and give the guys a chance.....the concept is good I don't suppose you read and understood this?...I am sure it will develop in time....I have checked out most of the other sites out there and they are not much better....it is simple to look at and not full of crap adverts and stuff you dont need to read...and those who criticise the price are just tight arses....at least i have made a few pounds already...as for Typhoon it is done on ejay and there are some people who like it as they have bought it...but the rest of the tracks if you took the time to listen to were done on reason 3....if you guys who like to do nothing better than to criticise...do you produce? and i would be interested in listening...after all music is just fun....

Posted by Delay on Nov-09-2005 22:16:

And i like the fact that they use The A&B remix of "The sound of goodbye" by perpetuos dreamer for their intro.

Overall looks like a biig baad joke to me!

Posted by armanivespucci on Nov-09-2005 22:17:

Producing also takes some sort of skill, money, and time. I'm afraid that Ejay doesn't quite cut it. If you're serious about making music you might want to invest in a real sequencer and some VST's... Oh, and Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver for some sort of website, as well as looking at professional designs for sites as examples.

I feel like crying. I feel like handing you a lot of unproductive critisism, but i'll try to resist.

You might be missing some legal aspects here. Don't know about the rules over in UK, but you are reselling copyrighted material. That eJay song is in the greyzone. Don't know if you are allowed to make money on mixed music. You've just thrown together some premade loops and started making money on it. Doesn't sound right.

One last thing, the flash is on another design level than the rest of the page. Did you make it from scratch yourself, or did you just download a template and use it?

Posted by Storyteller on Nov-09-2005 23:26:

ejay isn't grey. The loops are royalty free other than that I can only agree

I think it looks good , I would sent this to ferry and see if he wants to release a tune on it.

Now you're just being nasty to the poor fellow who doesn't know better.

dj gentix, my tip to you: Let yourself evolve before you try to get a label. Giver yourself minimum two years to get the quality right and read a lot about production and music theory.
I'll promise you that you won't regret it.
If continue releasing music of this quality you'll regret it in two years.

This is some positive advice... well put, too.

I've said time and time again, there are so many up n comers out there that wants to be rich and famous superstars... but don't want to invest the time and energy in getting there. They expect to have major gigs/releases within a couple years. It doesn't happen this way. Pay your dues, perfect your style, learn the industry... and before you know it, you're on your way.

Props to him for taking some initiative... but unfortunately, there's too much lacking here... in both the site and the music. I'm not trying to be a prick, but I can't see this surviving in such a competitive market. There are thousands of sites like this... and only a few will survive. You need to grab people and make them want to return every few days to see what's new. There's nothing unique about this site. As an online store, you have no selection... and my visit lasted only a few short moments. I sampled a couple tracks, but closed them quickly mostly because the tracks sounded like cheap production software preset demos. Both the site and the songs sound/look like they were made within a few short weeks... maybe even DAYS?! Put some time and energy into these things and they'll pay out ten fold. If you can honestly say you put all your heart and energy into this... then maybe you're heading down the wrong path as a profession.

Hey, I'm totally willing to give the new guy a shot... but not when their efforts are clearly at half mast. Please take some advice... if you're making music to make money (especially in your first year or two), you're destined to fail... don't be a superstar, the world has too many already.... do it for the passion... not to make a quick buck.

Take this with an open mind... I don't mean to be insulting in any way... but perhaps a reality check is in order here...

thanx guys

seems i picked the wrong day to get out of bed here..never mind..good comments..the site i am told will evolve and a new look will be open in a few days...they just needed to get up and running and have i have been told about a dozen artists in the wings...so the selection will improve...as for dj genetix....i do it for fun and not to make millions and if i can sell one or to tunes and help the concept of what this site is aiming to do then great..it's better than sitting on your arse in a high chair and telling everyone you are the best producers in the world but do nothing...if you know what i mean...gave the site a chance and check back in a few days...and do me a favour...if it cant be constructive criticism..then f.u.
