4 nord leads?

Posted by Icone on Nov-10-2005 12:44:

Good christ... Why would you need so much equipment? I doubt they even use 10% of it in one track. Where could you listen to the music?

Posted by DigiNut on Nov-10-2005 13:12:

GET RACK SYNTHS NEXT TIME YOU FOOL!!! Bahahahaha... that's quite possibly the most ridiculous setup I've ever seen (and I don't mean that in the good way).

id hit it lol

Why so much gear? For starters she's a gear collector.. She collects synths just like some people collect stamps..
quote:
I'm an eager collector of hardware synths that cover all synthesis types, effects processors, and MIDI control devices, and I have fun considering them all carefully in the context of my creative methods and the rest of my studio gear. I haven't acquired soft-synths or effects plug-ins--I'm inspired by instruments that stand alone and are not dependent on other system elements.

This site has been posted here like 5 times in last year... showing her old studio, and how she was building the new one...

All that gear can't be good for a producers concentration. Nice to have some hands on control though

Posted by Icone on Nov-10-2005 14:34:

Well, she must either be incredibly rich or have a wealthy husband who works his ass off so that she can get her synths.

I don't want to sound jealous, but it hurts me to see so much poorness in the world when somebody can spend (or throw away if you'd like to call it that way) his/her money just like that... I don't know.

Posted by groundzero74 on Nov-10-2005 14:54:

^ don't get too emotional dude

You can't save the world by NOT buying synths

Posted by djbruuen on Nov-10-2005 15:44:

OVERRKILLLLLL!!!!!

shit man, too much, (i never thought that would be possible to say about a studio ...but seriously, tooo much)

just like digi said, why doesn't she just get modules instead of keyboards? why do u need 4 nord leads? wtf? also, all that gear but notice she only has one monitor? i think a second would be a lot more valuable then a 4th nord lead

my concentration would be shot to hell working in that environment. especially that huge ass open space ...i love the software world sooo much better, get some monitors, a good soundcard, keyboard controller, a very fast computer and a nice desk, and bammo, a nice clean setup that is simple to use. although the new access TI polar looks very tempting but outta my price range for awhile

Posted by wood0292 on Nov-10-2005 16:01:

All that gear and only one 17 inch CRT.

Posted by Pjotr G on Nov-10-2005 16:26:

she's not rich. She just saves on other expenses.

And it's not like when you buy a synthesizer you have to fill in a form that you are obliged to make kick ass tracks with it. Plus the stuff she has is not rare, so it's not like anyone is "missing out" because of her.

Posted by wink on Nov-10-2005 19:46:

bwhahahahaha that's sooo stupid lol.. wow.. someone needs to tell that girl synths arent like clothes.. you CAN have too many. jesus lol.

Posted by Derivative on Nov-10-2005 19:47:

either way, she doesnt make much music - her record label has nothing signed to it.

my best guess is that cleaning all that shit is a full time job in itself. once the dusting is done, its 5 pm and time for dinner.

probably the ultimate case of gear aquisition syndrome.

i think shes just a collector though. i cant see why anyone else would buy multiple versions/iterations of the same synth.

and yea, it has been posted here about 5 times in the past year. funny thing is, it never ceases to amaze me - i mean, just look how much shit she has! the entire 3rd world debt is in that room. only in keyboard and rack module form.

just out of interest, did anyone spot a vibrator?

yep, spending so much money for that gear and don't use it for what that gear has been built...
I think that she should make donations to some of TA members, many of them would became famous

That's the kicker IMO... she considers herself a "collector" but the stuff she collects isn't even particularly rare or interesting. Makes me think of a coin collector with a whole room full of American pennies, nickels and dimes.

Indeed... I really don't see the use for it. There are rare synths enough if you'd really like to be considered a 'collector'.

About being 'emotional', I agree there are worse things to do with your money, though this just feels like someone having too much time on their hands...

Posted by DJ Shibby on Nov-10-2005 23:57:

If I didn't spend so much money on liquor and other things of that nature, I might have a similar setup by now!
