Love Poundin' Sensation Halcyon : Orbital vs. Chicane?

i find both these songs beautiful in their own ways

the orbital version is lush and peaceful, with beautiful vocals...
the chicane song is dreamy and inspirational...

which is your fav version of these two masterpieces?

Someone should do a mash up of those two tracks... with Andy Moor's version mixed in there too... hehehehehehehe

actually I just loaded up Ableton and was going to attempt that!
I'm just trying to find where on computer I have the Chicane track saved. I think I'll just stick with the obital and chicane ones for now if I can get the samples to line up...

btw: the orbital track still makes me drift away to paradise everytime I play it. Every part of that track is my deffinition of perfection. 9 minutes and 22 seconds of pure blissfulness. It makes me think the world is really going to be ok after all.

hey Tim do you think you could squeeze it in somewhere on the 18th in the Purple room?... I think the room would fill up real fast and everyone in there would go nuts smiling. (well if they're anything like me anyway!)

I am liking the Goldenscan one at the moment.

That's definetly possible... but I don't have it. I'll have to find a copy I think

I like your description Dave.

Such intensity and intrinsic clairty of new soundscapes were in affect with Orbital as an artist/production team.

CLASSIC PIONEERS!

Halcyon+ON+ON with Lush (Brown Album) and Chime all being trendsetters for a new spaciousness in dance music.

Distinctive abstract - experimental perfectionism

OPUS III - Fine Day - respect (own classic place in EDM history

Both Halcyon tracks could be blended into a mash-up - just pick the key to follow through in.

beats versus melody.

WIKKID WIKKID!

Tim I would BRING IT UP for this track as well.

that is worth at least 4 votes!

SPIN THAT SHIT!

Well, it's a top 10 tune for me for sure.

Chicane is good, but Orbital is a pioneer in a lot of aspects of EDM.

+1+1+1+1+1+1++1+1+1!!!!!

Oh gawd...to hear that over a massive system...
I think I'd just melt in the middle of the floor into a pile of goo...
The only thing recognizable would be my mega-perma-grin...

[EDIT] oh yea...ORBITAL hands down

Posted by nusty on Nov-13-2005 16:02:

I just had one of my worst nights in recent memory and crawled into bed with Orbital Halcyon playing (three different edits including the live at NYE mix from a while back)... it helped and I was able to fall asleep shortly after.
This morning turned them back on as I woke up (still feeling a bit messed up from crap last night) and literly right as the bassline came in the clouds outside my window parted and the sun came right in and started warming up my room. The rest of the city still looks cloudy. I think Obital's Halcyon really does have the approval of the heavens.
Ironically the mix that was playing was the one mixed with Brian Adams and the vocal from Heaven is a place on Earth! lol.

God I love this track.
