Dave Molina at Suede
This new bar named Suede opened up yesterday, it's next to Zen bar off of Houston. I noticed that Dave will be playing a couple thursdays there. Congrats. I hear the place looks great. I wonder how the sound is.
I went over there last night to check it out and I have to say that this place is knocking off all the other venues in town soon. Even though its not done yet...you can see the potential. They built it with DJ input, so its awesome from a DJ perspective.
The bar in the main room is huge and has a giant screen behind it with visuals. There are also couches and plenty of room to walk around.
The upstairs made me wanna cry tears of happiness. There is a dedicated dance floor overlooking the main room and the DJ booth is located so you can see the DJ from top and bottom floors. The booth is setup with brand spanking new equipment which includes 2 Technics 1200 MK5s...Pioneer DJM-600...Denon DND6000 Dual CD MP3 Player...and a server for DJs to upload tracks to for use with Final Scratch (also equipped). Stereo monitors will also be setup soon.
My buddy said it best when he said that the club makes you feel like you're in another city...I was seriously impressed.
I'll be out there next week to support this.
I'm playing on Thanksgiving night and once more in December.
Thanks for the well wishes : )
Hmmm sounds like this place might be class sure to check it out.
i wanna see this place....
You'd love it man. I saw the hottest bartender EVER there last night.
i will try to go sometime in december.... i should be travelling a lot between mcallen and my parents other house, so maybe we can meet up and do some partying
gotta check it out someday

Just say the word, white nukka...
Hope everything works out. I know you'd love it here.
Now if i can just get Armando to get off his ass and come down to SA...
I went last night as well. I was very very impressed. The music was pretty good and the crowd seemed to respond well. I am hoping it stays that way. Dave you are right when you say you think you are in a different city when you are in there. I sort of felt like I was at Foundation in Austin. Hopefully we can start to get some proper world talent in there. I would love to see James Zabiela play there =)
Dave I will try and make it out there on Thanksgiving night...I know we will probably be doing H20 on Thanksgiving Eve.

Suede is by far the sickest bar/lounge in S.A. I was there sat. night. The place was jumping off. I really thought i was in another city.......all the people trying to get in and the music they were playing. I was definitly impressed. Finally San Antonio is catching on with the rest of the whole damn world. I can't wait to hear some quality trance coming from that venue.
Its gonna be nice cutting through that line the night I'm playing.
**looks for entourage**
Hmmm...I don't think those people are in line because they want to hear the music, they are just in line because it's the new "hot spot"
I mean you could probably have Deep Dish playing or James Z and half the people there wouldn't know what the heck was going on. When I went over the weekend I noticed most of the people were there to see what the place had to offer(bar, girls, etc.) Not too many were dancing. The place is nice...but I am not sure yet if I am willing to wait in line longer than 5 minutes to get in....unless there is some big time talent.
I don't mean to be negative, just don't want people thinking San Antonio has come of age when it comes to EDM when half the people going there probably could care less what music is playing as long as there are hot people in there =)
P.S. Oh yea, what's up with the collared shirt rule? On one night I got in no hassle, the next I had to get the "ok" from another bouncer there. I guess I should feel lucky that they don't ask me to tuck my shirt in.

We need to set up a TA poker night and get shit-faced.
aslong as the only poking that goes on involves me, my penis, and the entire female side of Dirk's family.
