Hey Wim,

I'm pretty wide awake, so I'll listen right now

Nice snare - tons of attitude in that.

This has soo much forward momentum.. every sound is carrying the song forward.

On first listen the chord changes seem a bit random, a little difficult to follow. Once in the breakdown, the chord changes start to make more sense, and there is a melodic flow.

Your sounds, synths, percs, mastering and more are top notch - some of the best sounding I've heard in this forum. However, the melody (in my opinion) is quite generic... feels like something I've heard in other trance songs many times.

You've got incredible production skills - I'm amazingly impressed. I think there's room for improvement in regards to creating unique melodies and song structure.

this one has the typical Icone sound with some nice Outback-style fx didn't like very much that sub-bass you used..the melody is rather generic as sooper said, but everything else is really great.

however I still think The Way Home is your best work

Hey Icone,

I was expecting more from this track. The energy in it is great as in all of your tracks but the bass in the build up has some weird changes that needed getting used to. Also the build up sounds hasty and a bit thin. The guitarish riff in the second part of the track however is excellent.

The break is quite nice, reminds me a bit of myself haha. I am a fan of big string breaks and you deliver exactly that even though the melody is not that special and the break itself sounds a bit empty. The lead sound is also very generic (which is not a complaint, just stating a fact )but it does its job.

Overall the track is good because of its energy but nothing more than that. The last couple of tracks by you hade a lot more depth and had better melodies.

First, thanks for a full track in HQ mate .
I will not comment on Trance because I sux producing it lol, but in my Trance rookie ears this sounds really cool, mastering is very good, build up and break are a bit generic and they lack of some intensity imo, release is really nice! My prefered part no doubt, great job man, quality stuff as usual but lacks of feeling for me .

I`d say I generally agree with the above comments, mastering and sounds are pretty good as usual, but the melody felt kinda "bleh". I've heard some amazing stuff by you before, so I was a little disapointed.. but it's still some pretty good work.

I have to go against grain on this one! As you have known for a while I am totally in love with this track! Just that perfect intense bassline pattern during the intro, keeps me hanging on! Don�t know how people can be disappointed with a track like this! It certainly adds some freshness to a now lame trance genre! If it isn�t averagely produced by John �little and often� O� Callaghan and his other bum producer colleagues then you don�t hear it!

I just wish you the best with your recent signing's and hope for more like this!

i quite like the melody, not heard anything like it before. the synth is massive, but kind of loud.

lots of interesting sounds and subleties in this track.

the piano during the intro does not really stand out enough, i'm guessing it carries too much reverb and makes the mix a tad messy because of that.

solid track as a whole.

good buildup.

break: melody is nice and has that typical van gelder sound to it. moving as ive come to expect. synth is nice! a bit of a subtle change from the norm. maybe a more extended and building break?

beat comes in. and i bet this is great on a large sound rig with some opus 21" folded horns!

bassline is confusing because you dont know where its going- a good thing!

second break- nice little filtered beats really add buildup.

overall a great piece of work. am i allowed to do a rmx of this? in a more minimal and dark way?

nice fxes, good hihats.
Bass is ok.
The same old pluckes...
I like the the fx in the back.
Strings are ok.
Break sounds cool, the strings are nice, I'd add fxes in the background.
The lead as everyone else said is generic, but it has a bit of power in it.
It's really loud.
The second break is much better, much more powerful but yet the lead ruins it just a bit.
I'd add some gated choirs and a secondary lead to make it more interesting. but make it harmonic, not with the same notes.

This has been a major improvement since your two last samples.

i already had this one

Typical icone track, kick ass intro, liking the bass changes. Bassline and drive are extremely powerfull as always. Break could use some FX indeed. I quite like the melody, nothing special but its nice.

Decent icone track, nothing oustanding because hte main melody doesnt give me shivers

i really like this. definitely my type of trance! wicked stuff, and nice one for it sharing it in full.

Would it be okay if i played this one out dude? I know you've put it up here for the world, but it's always nice to ask before using it etc etc

Anyways, nice share wim. Maybe the lead has a tad too much low end, at least that's what i notice in the break. In the mainpart it fits nice in the mix. Not very hooky melody, but this still keeps you moving. Well these points are not enough to lose 4 points on the scale of this forum.

wim, yeah that's what i meant. i've been working on the track myself, but i'm not entirely happy with it..

i'll see if i can upload somewhere what i have so far

must say, not the most original melody, but I still like the way you give your tunes such a power and great drive!
