New Radio Station In Miami ! ! All Dance ! ! !

Finally an ALL Dance radio station on Miami, its 93.1 FM, was the Classical Station, now its the DANCE ! ! ! ANd yeah, its Trance, Dance, Fresstyle and Old Skool DAnce.. totally devoted to the BEST DANCE ! ! ! pretty good indeed

commercials??!! man i used to WELCOME the commercials... the music on power 96 sucks ass! i look forward to this "dance" station, but will miss WTMI classical 93.1

Dude, The classical station at the time sucked, I hate classical music, Its a good thing they changed the format cause a dance music station is more important then some stupid classical station.

yeah, i saw the commerical for it when i was down in miami, but i left the day before new years eve...so didn't get to find out what it was......

that's awesome, i know orlando has 95.3 party and they play a lot of trance stuff, but other stuff too.......and i thought that was kind of weird to see orlando with a station and not miami.....

anywho....any reviews on the station so far???

In the radio station department, orlando kicks our ass.... Orlando has at least 2 (if not 3) pirate trance stations, one of which ONLY plays livesets from '99 .... i would LOVE to have that shit down here...

after listening to this new 93.1 station all day, i report that its marginally better than Power Ninety-sux! Granted, there are like no commercials, but they loop the same 2-hours of songs ALL DAY! (i listened all day to find this out)...

here are the songs they play:
Ian van Dahl - Castles in the Sky
Mix Factory - Take Me Away
Kosheen - Hide U (orig. D&B mix)
Alice DeeJay - Better Off Alone
Ayla - Ayla Pt. 2
Amber - Sexual
Razor & Guido - (that one song.... forget the name)
Darude - Sandstorm
Darude - Feel the Beat
and a BUNCH of freestylw during the day!!

...and others... its basically like Cafe Iguana music....
granted, at least there's no hip-hop, and its a step in the right direction... but they also throw in some freestyle, which SUCKS.... and they play these same, stale, some of which are 2-year old songs over and over and over all day on a 2-hour rotation... i heard all those songs played 5 times today....

but again, step in the right direction... we need to send them eMails recommending modern, euro-trance... and techno.. (right now they play NO techno... i don't know who said they play techno!)

... tonight i was lucky enough to catch System F's "out of the blue" and PvD's "We are Alive"... but that was about as european as it gets, folks!

but we need to send them eMails, to guide them! remember dance music is not the same thing as trance music!

But, i'm not concerned in the slightest... I'm starting up my own radio station next week... all the parts should be in then.... its only a 1-watt transmitter, but with the dipole antenna i should get a 10 mile range... so basically all throughout fort lauderdale...

i will be broadcasting trance, and only trance... (maybe have a techno hour on weekend-nights....) .... i will basically loop all the good livesets (and some songs) 24 hours a day. I don't know what the frequency will be yet... i have to test & tune when i get the equipment. IF all goes well, and the FCC doesn't give me shit, i may "upp" the boost on the transmitter and be able to cover miami & the palm beaches...

i will keep you guys updated... finally a real TA radio, eh?

I agree with all of you. It was about time that miami got an all Dance Station. Power 96 needs to realize that miami is not all Hip-Hop. Also, ive been to tampa and Orlando quite a bit and was amazed of the good quality radio stations that are located their. I kinda expected miami, a major city, to have the top stations....
I enjoy having 93.1 on my dial and am confident that it will improve with time. They will acquire more/better songs....

VERY nice guy, and he sells equipment that you can't get anywhere else, for excellent prices. To get what i got (a complete FM transmitter & power inverter & antenna set up - 1 watt (which is powerful - works for a mile)) for just over $300. And you should too... i just stream off my computer 24/7.... got kids in the neighborhood tuning in.

One day i will get the 40 watt amplifier, and it should work for over 20 miles - maybe 30. that only costs 200, but i need money

its FM... 89.1 but only works for about a mile around my house (right now around Las Olas area).... because its only 1 watt... to put it in perspective, stations like power 96 use 100,000 watt transmitters with Antennas mounted high on towers... mine's mounted on my roof of my house and 1 watt... When i get the 40 watt amplififer i should be able to broadcast all the way down past Dania maybe into Hollywood and all the way north (maybe just into Pompano)... but for 200 bucks that is awesome. You got to realize we don't have the budgets that power 96 etc. has. However, if each of us got one of these setups, we could pretty much cover every part of south florida!

no, jay that is the beauty of it... it sounds stereo b/c it IS stereo.... This guy (spokwa467) sells them in both stereo and mono applications (the mono ones are a little cheaper, mainly used for AM broadcasting), but the 1 watt version i got is stereo - there are two RCA plugs on the back.... you can hook it up to a mixer and have your computer on one side, and the output of your TT's and mixer on the other side.... oh yeah but right now i don't have a second mixer (just the one on my TT's)....

so i got a 1 into 2 lineout... it is plugged into my speaker plug on the back of my computer & turns into 2 RCA's that plug into the back of the transmitter.

The station is a good break from my CD rotation, but it ends there. If it wants to become a powerhouse, they need to take SERIOUS notes from BBC Radio One (London) and Ministry of Sound (London). They play all the freshest material, promote events, give industry news, have live in-studio mix sessions, and the whole 9. I know the station is young, but it needs to model itself after the super powers. Miami is ready, it is the hotbed of dance in America. Be BOLD!! Stop playing "Better Off Alone". Give us the good stuff!! Big chances lead to big rewards. Oh, by the way, both stations from London are online. (www.ministryofsound.com) and (www.bbc.co.uk/radio1) Have a listen and look of the program schedule. If we had that.....MAN OH MAN!!!

BBC's radio 1 plays shit all day... only on the weekends and for an hour each night do they play electronic-genre music... most of the day they play hip hop and pop.... so i dont know what you're talking about!! and MOS radio isn't much better... house anyone? I really don't like house.

The best radio station in the world (IMO) is in Holland... ID&T Radio (ex-Radio 538).... they play trance 80% of the time, and broadcast all trance energy sets, all club eau, innercity, etc..... and have the big DJ's spin on the air in the studio.... what more do you want?
