Ruby Weapon from FFVII

This is the one boss in Final Fantasy VII that I NEVER beat...even to this day...I've tried GameFAQ guides, the Official FFVII guide and nothing seems to work. Maybe Porky or Miamitrance04 can suggest something to beat this fucking bitch?

Go into the fight with 2 characters already dead. Wait for Ruby to stick his arms into the sand. Revive both characters with the Phoenix summon. Then mime Knights of the Round. Repeat the last step as many times as necessary. He shouldn't be too hard.

hi there.

just summon Hades. only he is able to stop/freeze Ruby weapon, just in time for you to summon KofTR, and mime. do this a couple of times and he is yours...

To combine all the tips, this is how I did it.

1) Go into combat with only one character alive
2) Cast Hades and KoTR with W-Summon
3) Repeat this about 6 times with Mime
4) Cast Phoenix with KoTR to bring your characters back
5) Sucess!

Ruby has about 750,000 HP so time the last Phoenix KoTR combo to when you know KoTR will finish Ruby off, say when Ruby has 50-60k HP left.

Then look forward to about 50,000 materia AP points and about 4 levels gains (I was level 80+ when I beat the bastard).

Well he can kill two of them instantly with that quicksand sttack he does, if one member of your party can wipe him out without specially equipping the right materia on him, well done.

if you've read all the guides then it's gonna be the same shit that people post here with the 2 charecters dead and all.
most important is to have final attack with pheonix so it brings you back. having KOTOR won't hurt, getting 7777 also wouldn't hurt, there's like a perfect guide for the lucky 7 thing on gamefaqs.com though they usually link lucky 7 with fighting emerald weapon, the one in the ocean.

I remember fighting Emerald for the first time, and I managed to knock off one of his emeralds from his right shoulder. I was going "OH MY GOD, IM FUCKING WINNING". Next thing I know, he splits in half, goes above me and pwned

I was so pissed..... I still haven't beaten Emerald nor Ruby , though, I recently picked up the game again. Man, not playing it for three years and replaying it really brings back memories. Aeris.......... *cries*

did u know? emerald/ruby were additions to the US version of ff7 that the japanese never got (except for international version)... usually it's the other way aorund! lucky us!

Man this is one addition I could have lived without. Those goddamn WEAPONS! Blah! Thanks for all the pointers, everyone. I'll try again soon. If I don't win, fuck it.

i did beat both of those weapons though... back 7 years ago... jesus christ, time goes by so friggin quick... those were the great days of life, when video games made me a happy man, hahaha
