if you wanna buy numark tt's then buy tt-500 =]

Posted by SpecRadio on Nov-13-2005 07:49:

tt200's have a bunch of problems with the pitch and imo aren't worth it.

tt500's ftw.

Posted by Protege on Nov-13-2005 07:54:

I ordered my gear from them and they are legit. Ive never heard anything bad about them. Their shipping is free which offsets the fact that it takes a while to ship, but Im in cali and theyre in vermont so its understandable. You should feel fine about ordering from them

thanks protige, and yes i am going to get teh tt 500's now. i was going to, but i compaired the specs to the tt200 and didnt see too much difference... but i am gonna get the tt 500's now

thanks guys,
bisco

The pitch on the 500's isn't a piece of garbage like the tt200's. I owned a pair of 200's and they were crap. I bought techs and omgosh I could keep a record in sync for 1+ minute IMMEDIATELY when I got them, where as I couldn't keep the 200's in sync for more than 20 seconds. My old gemini turntable did better than the 200's.

Posted by discobiscuit on Nov-13-2005 08:27:

so the 500's are cool then?

500s are awesome. i own a pair..

HUUGE difference between them and the 200s, u need to see to realize..

check out the weight spec. the 200s weigh nothing, like a toy, the 500s are quite a bit beefier.

And the 200s are really just not good.

500s=win.

whats the rush? ebay = techs

personally i'd save up some more money and get better stuff, the mixer will stop working after a year of use, youll want better decks at some stage and i wont even start on the headphones

good stuff holds its value better too, so youll still be able to sell it for a decent amount if you decide you arent into it

Actually the v500s are pretty decent. my first pair and ive seen bigger djs using them on occasion.

ur right about the mixer, i have one, and its pretty much broken...

faders are gone, crossfader curve change is gone.

its fucked.

OH and holy shit, ur paying wacked prices for ur gear!

tt200s are like <200 dollars!

EACH.

I doubt the mixer will fall apart after a year. My neighbor has a dm1050 that he bought for $75 a year and a half ago. The only thing that's wrong with it is the crossfader on one side is crakely.

I still have a djx 700 that's running smooth that I bought 2 years ago. Not one thing wrong with it.

I don't know why everybody puts down low priced mixers. Hell, most of you probably havn't even touched them, or owned them for more than 2 months to get the full effect of wear and tear on them.

Posted by TranceSpeeder on Nov-13-2005 19:50:

I have the DXM03 & its going strong, same with the cans... do u people go around throwing around your gear? shit, im not sure how ur guys stuff breaks so easy, if u take care of it and keep the dust out, they will be fine as far as the mixer and cans go, but those tt200's just plain old suck balls. <-IMO you need to get a very strong motor turntable or just get used techs on ebay if u dont wanna get the whole stanton 150 $$$$$ deal. i personaly love my str8 100's. i got them on ebay for cheap as hell and there damn solid, wicked neo had his for a long ass time and there going strong. i rele dont know why they stopped making that product.

Posted by Omega_Blue on Nov-13-2005 21:21:

teh tt-200s aren't that bad. i own a pair and they hold their pitch well. I've ripped a lot of my vinyl to mp3 using the decks, and the mp3's hold their pitch when i use my cd decks....

I cant emphasize enough waiting till you get more money to buy Technics 1200's if you want to go the turntbale route. I have had my 1200's for 6 years (Mk2') and they work the same from when I bought them. I am also using Ortofon nighclub catridges. Who knows, you might start DJ'ing out in clubs in two years. The turntable of choice of in clubs are Technics. If you aint going to go first class, when are you going to go?

Posted by SpecRadio on Nov-13-2005 22:00:

Stanton's top decks are okay...but if you get technics on ebay for like $200 each...you know they will last you at least a generation with no flaws.

Posted by discobiscuit on Nov-13-2005 23:21:

the only technics tt's on ebay for even close to 200 bucks are the m3d's are they good. one auction for a pair ends in 1 hour... 2 for 400 bucks..

the equipment is great for starting. the tt-500s will last u quite some time. The mixer is good, i only heard good reviews for it. nice buy. About the vinyl, the only two i heard of is chemical brothers and daft punk. yeh, im a nOOb . if u have an extra $180 to spend, then i recommend the technics RP-DH1200 headphones. i have them and they kick ass. better than the seins i had. nice comfy fit with GREAT sound. everything u would expect from technics.

Posted by Allied Nations on Nov-14-2005 08:51:

My exact same setup, needles and all.

Be nice to your dxm... dont slam the faders to hard like i did..

well, everyone does when they are all into their rocking tunes. u do some crazy stuff. i actually made the fader top pop off of the metal crap that goes into the mixer. hey, what can i say...it was worth it =).

Posted by Dj_Es-Dva on Nov-14-2005 11:13:

from what ive heard the tt200's arent that bad, im still saving for a pair instead of 1600's which are obviously shit from the specs

if you have $180 to spend on headphones, get the Senn HD-25s.
