Infusion Win ARIA For Best Dance Release - LIVE @ Canal Room Wed.11.16

Infusion is back! Congratulations are in order as they've just won an ARIA (the Australian equivalent of a GRAMMY) for Best Dance Release for their artist album Six Feet Above Yesterday. Now they're venturing out from the land down under for the first of 13 dates that take them across all of America; including shows in never-visited-before cities of Atlanta, Kansas City and Jacksonville, and beyond to ring in the New Year back at home.

From Infusion.net.au

Breaking The Aria Music Awards Curse

We're still stunned, shocked and positively flummoxed at what could only be called "our surprise win" at last nights ARIA Awards. That's right - we won, for the second year in a row, the ARIA for Best Dance Release for Six Feet Above Yesterday.

Up against a couple of huge-selling hits, we honestly thought we were at the awards ceremony for the free food only, but we take our second ARIA win with great pleasure and with the knowledge that we are supported, day-in, day-out, by a massive bunch of friends, fans, co-workers and employees. You all buy the records, come to the gigs, promote us, talk about us, write about us, play our music and we're hugely grateful.

Sorry about the super-bumbling speech. We were shocked.

The curse? Local forklore goes along the lines of "you win the Best Dance Release ARIA once, and your career stiffs forever after". Paul Mac has been making a mockery of this theory for the past couple of years.

Congratulations to Infusion on their ARIA! Be sure to catch them on their upcoming tour dates!

Can't believe you're backing out. And we were thinking of coming, too.

thats a variable

when its a necessity is when the equation becomes unbalanced

Barosoap is a girl. We skipped Infusion, too, because we didn't get out of Harry Potter until like 9:45.

oh man, what a mission it was to get to see infusion. But despite the rain and train delay and other factors, infusion was prettty sick. First time seeing them and i have to say...NIIIIICE! it was great too cause we got there exactly 1 min before they began. So i guess it all worked out prefectly.

Took a mission to 69, the ill chinese food spot in chinatown(if youre in chinatown, 69 is the place to hit up). Had the illest chicken & brocolli w/ pork fried rice for ONLY $3.75 ...UNBEATABLE and prefect way to end a weekday!

anytime

i appreciate good cheap food!

also check out

Joe's Shanghai on Pell Street (usually crowded)
or
Joe's Ginger on Mott St between Canal and Hester
-go for their famous soup dumplings (crab is definitely a winner)

other recommended cheap eats in chinatown is
Malaysian Rest.
There is a tunnel running from Elizabeth to Bowery between Bayard st and Canal St. Like a tunnel going through the block, there is a malaysian rest in the tunnel, also superb if you are in the curry mode
