now that we know the 32 qualified teams, let's try and guess how the 8 groups are gonna look like

Right, so as I'm a dork and I'm bored, I'll make a random draw.

First, there's the seedings. I'll go by the FIFA Rankings for this. So, the teams would be divided by the different seedings like this:

First seeds:

Second seeds:

Now distributing these randomly (using online random number generator) into the 8 groups. Restrictions: no more than 2 european nations in a group, no more than 1 nation from any other continent in a group.

Interesting result, with some groups being clearly easier than others (E,H and G are much easier than A and B). We'd meet USA again, dunno if that'd be a very good thing..

If Portugal plays the US again they will win. US got lucky last WC they will be horrrible this time around have no faith in them...dont start Eddie...also the suprises this year I think will be Serbs, Ghana, Ivory Coast, and the Aussies.

Big Disapointments I can see: France, Germany, Argentina, and the Czechs

Um, since England won their group and beat the Argentines, I'm pretty sure they'll be back up into the top 8 in the (incredibly unbalanced) FIFA rankings. They'll be a top seed for sure.

the "groups of death" are always fun, but I'd rather not see England in any of them.

it isn't all about the rankings, it's one of the factors used by FIFA to pick the seeds. i used it strictly as i don't know exactly how they pick them.

it's probably all about the rankings

No matter how the groups look like, none is as interesting as the consistent group of death. Since Germany has to be in Group A and Brazil in Group B... I will predict:

Group D (Group of Death)
Netherlands
Italy
Saudi Arabia
Costa Rica

Or something to that effect

How is it such a coincidence that every tournament (WC or Euro) Group D is so crazy??

FINAL: Germany - Argentine

Argentine wins by pentalies.

I'm not interested in making groups already, it's still another 8 months.

I'm almost absolutely sure Portugal is going to be a 2nd seed.. if there's going to be 2nd seeds. One of these days I saw an article on a credible sports website that confirmed this. I might be completely wrong with other teams tho.

The thing I'm unsure is whether they only make 1st seeds and then divide the other teams by continents, or divide the teams in 4 groups like I did.

i have a feeling England and Tunisia are gonna end up in the DEATH group
