Browsing Through My Old Oakenfold Sets...

I felt like listening to some older sets that I had which first got me into electronic dance roughly 4-5 years ago... and I came across Paul Oakenfold - Essential Mix Live @ Creamfields, Liverpool. (Paul Oakenfold Broadcasted on Sunday 27th August, 2000). God damn that was such a great mix. It was the first set I heard, and it was the set that got me hooked onto this music. It's the only thing I listen to now. Anybody else have that mix?

Incredible, and we will never hear trance like that again.

Thank god those were recorded. THe live in China was my first mix, and still amazing.

Yeah exactly, it sounds so much different compared to now. I haven't been into EDM long enough like some chaps here, but after listening to those I can now tell the difference between then and now.

I wish I was heavy into EDM during the Tranceport era. I liked trance then, but I foolishly stayed heavy into hip hop, which now I can't fucking stand.

If Oakie went on a Tranceport tour, he'd ram every freakin venue. Too bad he's too arrogant to focus on anything other than what HE wants.

BTW, Gouryella can join forces again and leave the fromage at home to side with him on that tour.

and the creamfields one..an 1.30..where more and more comes in..i stand up and dance everytime.

Oh man... these sets were the reason I got into trance. The Essential Mix world tour with Oakie are simply unbelievable.. unfortunately I lost all of them when my computer crashed. I don't like where Oakie's style has gone since then but I think every trancer has to give this guy respect for what he did.
