making trance music
Hi
I hope what im about to type make sense, first thing i use Cubase as my software for making music. i can't seem to get the kick drum and bassline to blend together. its sounds too like CHEEZE !!! can any1 help if they understand what i mean another thing i use the fx plugin called subbass is that a bad idea too ??
Uh oh. The world is coming to an end. I can hear the blood curdling sound of pigs being slaughtered and the sky is turnign red. Lol, when a thread starts up, asking the EXACT SAME QUESTION as the one at the top of the producers forum, people get pissed. I dont really give a shit but wow dude :P. 1) SEARCH, 2) definitely atleast look at whats on the first page of the forum, 3)read the stickies.
*awaits DigiNuts breakdown and for the postal action to begin*
"Mr.Whitemann?"
"Yes, sir?"
"Unleash the dogs."
Sigh.
Whats with you guys? comon......Of course when you start it sounds like cheeze.........or crap..........just keep writing and producing, youll se it will sound better and better with time. Keep it simple, try making cool beats and bass, then add a simple, yet cool lead and elaborate from there. Oh no one said it but.....check the sticky!!!!

I have no clue what subbass plugin you're talking about, and the offbeat bass is lame as hell. I'm sorry but you just CAN'T dance to music like that - when the kick and bassline *never* meet, the track has NO drive whatsoever.
It's really not that hard to EQ your kick and bassline apart and compress them again together.

Incidentally, the most common dance I see to that offbeat bassline is the nauseating "hands in the air" or "head swaying from side to side" dance. Anyway, I'm not gonna argue... you make basslines however you like, and I'll make them how I want! |
I have a bit of knowledge about the making of the layout of trance music. its the EQ your kick and bassline apart and compress them again together. all the other threads help is about fruity loops or reason. i use cubase so im trying to get some good advice for this if this is any. SUBBASE is a vst fx plugin
