djs who are good radio hosts

this is how I see it:

djs who have a professional (low-pitched or maybe just trained) voice (radio djs):
-Armin
-Roger Sanchez
-Judge Jules
-Pete Tong

djs with weak speaking abilities (high pitched voice) who should just mention record names and keep their comments for the blog:
-Paul van Dyk
-Above & Beyond (all three)

somewhere in the middle:
-John Digweed
-Ferry Corsten

What do you guys think?

Pete Tong sounds the most professional and I consider him the "official" voice of EDM if that makes sense. Digweed sounds very mellow and Carl Cox always sounds so chipper and happy. I would tune in religiously if Desyn had his own show... he is so fucking hilarious!

I agree Pete Tong gets my vote too. he always does such a great job of hyping up the DJs on the air.

Tigerclaw always used to be a great host during Shoutcast broadcasts of GDJB waaay back in the day.

gotta give it up to markus schulz, although he does have a lisp

Pete Tong is undoubtedly the man!!!

Pete Tong and J00F are both ideal for radio broadcasts.

I can't imagine Tiesto being a radio host, because he is not all that great in English.

Pete Tong and John 00 Fleming.

Pete Tong and Judge Jules. Those are the two shows which i listen to religiously. Enjoy hearing Jules' new metaphors haha. His coverage of global gathering this year was also quality. Armins also another good broadcaster but doesnt seem as comfortable or relaxed as tong and jules.

How can anyone say they think Markus is a good host (though better than TigerClaw I will admit)? markus always sounds just so EXTREEEEME!!! when he's talking. And his extreme voice coupled with a lisp don't go well when you're listening to yet another set full of twinkly prog that makes you have to urinate.

fergie's pretty good on the radio

Posted by zoric on Nov-17-2005 13:07:

Tong, J00F and I also like Above & Beyond, They're pretty funny meanwhile.

tongy is good as a host, and even tho i don't like what schulz is playing he is a good host, and both of these guys had experience for years, (schulz had a radio show before gdjb called edge factor, when he & mcspadded was based in arizona)

+1 for Pete Tong.

Add Blank & Jones to the suckers list.
