Steroids

What are you thought on baseballs new steroid policy?

50-game suspension for a first offense, a 100-game suspension for a second offense, and a supposed lifetime suspension for third-time offenders.

i think its a great idea... watch all the HRs decrease now because of this new policy. a lot of fans dont really care what players are on, theyd rather see bombs being hit out of the park repeatedly.. but those really wouldnt make good role models to the young fans

they can't test for this yet though....

growth in the new choice drug for these guys

is that some sort of undetectable steroid or are those growth hormones?
ive heard growth hormones are hard to detect and can also result in strength gains... also heard if gh is combined with steroids you grow like a mutha*****... no wonder barry bonds hat size grew i believe 2 full hat sizes in less than a season

Personally I belive professional sports as a whole will be reshaped over the next 7 to 10 years. Baseball is a scapegoat for whats really going on in the NFL / NHL . These guys are juiced beyond most peoples imagination. The life expectancy for an NFL lineman now is 50 years old.

Too lenient in my eyes.

Few reasons I feel they should become tougher with this:
a) terrible influence on the youth of today

b) stats are inflated inflated (which equals...inflatd salaries...inflated ticket prices...inflated chances to make a trip to Cooperstown)

c) that shit will KILL you (ball players are gonna start dropping like pro wrestlers soon)

One year suspension for the first offense + wipe out of stats for that year...second offense you're DONE

Poor Pete Rose. One of the greatest ball players ever and he's still suffering the consequences. Yes...he was totally out of line but his stats as a player are ridiculous. Please give the man a plaque already.

before

after

What a fucking joke!

lets get serious...

Those pictures are disgusting... How will baseball change because of this, should be pretty interesting to see...

Posted by Shamez214 on Nov-17-2005 12:36:

There's no way you can wipe out someone's stats. A stat is a stat is a stat. No matter how it was acheived.

They also included amphetamines in this policy. Which is very interesting considering that amphetamines have been used in baseball since the Willie Mays era.

If it was achieved by cheating then it doesn't count. In fact I don't think nothing in life counts if you had to cheat your way through. Today's baseball players are struggling to reach the same all time records such as your Willie Mays, Babe Ruths, and so forth. Those ol' timers easily established their prestigious record without the use of steroids. Even with the help of steroids these guys still struggle to keep up with the classic players. What a shame. Just work harder.

babe ruth hit 714 homeruns fueled by nothing more powerful than a hot dog, in bigger parks no less

Ok, Im not a big baseball buff so Im asking...

Did anyone ever hit a home run at the Polo Grounds to center field? It was like 500+ft.

There were plenty hit to CF at Polo Grounds...

But they were inside the parkers.

Dude, you can't just wipe out something that happened. That would mess up everything. For example, Mr. Weakling hit a single. Mr. Monster comes up and hits a home run. So you take away Monsters Home Run and RBI. But what about Weakling's run scored? And what about the pitchers ERA? Taking away stats doensn't only affect the player you're taking them away from.

And, when all is said and done, Albert Pujols and Alex Rodriguez will have 800+ Homeruns.

its like when you ask someone how many outs are in an inning and they say 3

I see nothing wrong with using steroids. maybe you people should do some research, i don't think it's cheating at all. someone who's on steroids has to work twice as hard to achieve gains. steroids just reduce the recovery time allowing for you to workout more often thus making you stronger. get your facts straight it's not a miracle drug

So... you think someone who doesn't use HGH or Steroids has the same advantages as someone who does? Okayyyy...

Posted by pyro264jb on Nov-21-2005 03:34:

The only drug (Androgenic Substance) that can improve nerve axon reaction time / increase the immune system is Deca Durabolin. This is a big one with these baseball players.
