New Cirque du Soleil show- Delerium

If u sign up for the Cirque Club (its free), u can pre-order tickets online. Just got ours for the 20th. This looks WAY better than the last show, Corteo. Includes new remixes of their tunes. Did u know Sasha did a remix for them too?

DELERIUM- Feb 20-21, Air Canada Centre
Turning Music Into Motion

DELIRIUM, a live music event that pushes the limit of arena performance. Immerse yourself in a unique universe of sight and sound. Feel the passion of the musicians, singers and dancers driven by the beat of remixed music from Cirque du Soleil.

Cirque du Soleil presents DELIRIUM, its first-ever live arena event. The North American Tour kicks off in Montreal January 26th, 2006 at the Bell Centre, followed by two more shows on the 27th and 28th.

Created and directed by Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon, DELIRIUM is a multifaceted event of unprecedented proportion featuring Cirque du Soleil music remixed. Driven by an urban tribal beat and awe-inspiring visuals, musicians, singers and dancers transform the arena into joyous frenzy.

DELIRIUM is the quest for balance in a world that is increasingly out of sync with reality. It pushes the limit of arena performance through technical magnitude, human introspection and creative prowess.

DELIRIUM is an urban tale, a state-of-the-art mix of music, dance, theatre, and multimedia. Pumped by this re-energized Cirque du Soleil rhythm, the DELIRIUM tour transports audiences into a universe of delirious sensory folly.

I've always wanted to go see Cirque...maybe this'll be the time I finally see it.

I saw Corteo the first weekend it opened in Montreal and the music absolutely sucked so they said by the time it came to Toronto they'd change it up. I really enjoyed it but really I want a tracklist prior to bothering to waste all that money for a monday or tuesday night here in Toronto.

(I knew someone part of the crew so I ended up partying with the "circus freaks"..it was a blast!!)

Lucky you! If u want a sample of the tunes, pick up the Delerium double CD or there's some music samples on that link i included. Allegria is the best song ever!

Some highlights of the show:

"Along with the music and acrobatic performances, multimedia plays a key role in bringing the audience to delirious sensory folly.

Few shows can boast such a staggering amount of projections for one event. Spectators will be treated to gigantic, crystal-clear images with infinite possibilities for projections on screens, floors, and the audience.

-In all, DELIRIUM has 540 square feet of projection space, the equivalent of almost 4 IMAX screens.

-Projection screens include 4 state-of-the-art roll-up screens suspended from the top of the arena, 2 tulle screens that stand at the stage extremities and 4 wings.

-18 25-kW projectors including one in the main character's air balloon cast images around the arena.

-A unique system of pre-recorded, animated and manipulated live images keeps up with the musical tempo and insures the audience is alert.

- 5 luminous swings are used by acrobatic dancers to perform their feats

- A multipurpose planet drum measuring 15 feet by 59 inches serves as an acrobatic platform as well as a giant drum set comprised of 16 percussive instruments.

- Four curve-bridges resembling small boats and made of composite material enhance the acrobatic performances. Two are suspended 15 feet above the stage; the other two remain on the ground."

******Looks like this show is gonna be more about 'acrobatic dance' than actual cirus acts, which makes me even more hyped!
