Spinnin it the dark.
For some odd reason, i like spinning in the dark. The only light in my room is from my monitor, CD players, and turntable. I perform better (only god knows why), and am just more relaxed and chilled. i suppose cause bein in the dark with a few lights and chill tunes can set that kind of atmosphere. Anyone else like spinning in the dark rather than light?

i like spinnin in total darkness wae just a lamp on next to my vinyl so that i can see my records. makes it more interestin.
perhaps its a selm-esteem issue?
can u have sex with the lights on? if that then its definatly a self-esteem issue

I like mixing in the morning (7 o'clock ish) in the light. In the evening I mix with just these blue LED lights on, it makes the platter look different
i like to spin in darkness, but... i like to have some source of light under my table (small lamp or sth), it gives me some light but not too much
I spin in pitch blackness....

daytime nighttime anytime suits me just fine

i don't like spinning in the dark. i hate fumbling around the mixer.
i need ateast a good black light, to rock it proper.
plus, i'm a hardcore pitch rider. i never touch the platter, turn the spindle or handle the record. even w/m5g's back lit pitch slider it's difficult to pitch ride in the dark when you can't see (only aproximate) where the slider is in relation to the numbers. kicking the slider back and fourth, and trying to keep the beatmatching tight is a nightmare w/out adequate lighting. it reminds me of me of my old belt drive days when i would spend more time riding the pitch than actually mixing.

When I'm mixing at home, I keep the lights on, but when I'm mixing live, I prefer being poorly lit over being spotlighted.
prefer it dark as well..with a lil light to see what's the next record i'm spinning..

prefer dim lights, dont like to be spotlighted
spinnin in the dark does nothing but ruins your eyesight
Spinning in the dark can be awesome depending on the atmosphere. For our high skool house parties, I bring a strobe, a fog machine, and a multicolored elctronic discoball. Especially since my cd decks glow, and with the lighting effects, I enjoy djing alot more cuz I get caught up in the atmosphere.

and yea the fog machine.. :P:P
maybe you guys like spinnin in the dark bc most clubs are dark.
Real dark (without any source of light, like window to the street with lighting lamps etc) is nightmare. I was in something like this (in underground, there wasn't any windows and any source of lights) and i was afraid - i thought i'm blind now. Also if i was walking back from very bright place to that underground - my eyes hurt there.
In night there are some sources of light (if you're talking about houses) - e.g. window cause streets are lighted in night (but not everywhere and everytime).
I like 'dark mixing' but not everytime.
And my friend (he's spinning from cd players) can't mix in real dark, he must have any GOOD source
cause he must see what cd he selected to play
