i have 5000 on my mastercard and i maybe only use a hundred a month
it's good actually. credit card debt really does suck..
ot: the best thing to do if you want to build your credit is to just make small purchases and pay off the full balance every month.

Normal? Maybe. Good? Yes.
My limit's about 10k, and I've never used more than a small fraction of that. They just keep raising it. I guess they hope maybe I'll overspend and they'll get to charge me some interest. Not gonna happen, though.
They increase the limit because they know you're probably going to be good for it and might need it.
When I was in college I usually used to spend $200-300 a month on my credit card but used to keep on asking them to increase.
Twice a year I'd go on vacations and spend like $3k in a month - that's when the higher limits come handy.
Now that I've started working, I spend a lot more and put pretty much everything on the cards but pay it off in full every month. I'm addicted to collecting points & miles.

Hmmm... My visa isn't a credit card. It just holds the money on a certain account. The rest I have on a high interest account. Maybe it's a waste having cash on the visa account, when I get crappy interest and seldom use it :P
i have 45k on my accounts, and i use only maybe 300/month
wow... i would spent it in a day.... np at all

If it really bothers you and you dont think you ever intend on using the 5K, then the best thing you should do is have them lower your limit. this way it the tempation is removed.
