I speak from experience, in that it's not all luck. Good things happen for a reason, when you're working hard and doing the best you can at every opportunity. I've been very lucky this year too, but it starts with the things that I've done to get in the right position. I can guarantee you've earned your opportunities, with the ball bouncing in the right direction.

Excited for this weekend. Sorry to hijack, but is there anything going on this Friday night, when we get in, or are we saving up for Saturday?

Indeed, luck has very little to do with Gil's success

As for this Friday, like every Friday, Club Heaven of course!!

Nice.

I'm sure knowing the right people has helped him a long way, too...and by chancing knowing the right people...that's luck, dude.

Like I was lucky to have met a person who by chance knew the founder of Spundae pretty well and one night in some little lounge in SF we all happened to show up there (to listen to Josh Gabriel, hehe) and I was introduced to Mr. Founder and the rest is history. Without that introduction, I would have probably never really been able to meet him as its much more difficult to meet & greet like that inside of a crazy club. I would probably still be just a little DJ fanboy with little knowledge of all the stuff that goes on behind the scenes...a little DJ fanboy who would have never had the chance to meet and/or get to know DJs, producers, etc over time.

Still a little fanboy...but now with a little inside knowledge.

For me, luck is a beautiful thing sometimes. I'm grateful for the opportunities its brought me.

Luck has its ugly side, too.

Dave

I think its a combination of both. Your absolutely right Dave!!! I played for many years not knowing anyone in the business. I really didn't play out all that much because of it. Meeting the right people can change many things for you. However, you need to be in the right place at the right time. You are also right to Nitemer!!! Its a lot of hard work to get to where you want to be. There's many other factors involved besides knowing the right people...

However, the main issue in this thread is not about me, its about Johan Gielen at Club Heaven. Don't forget to email for the discount list!!!

This opening set should be interesting. Can anyone shed some light on what to play before Kazell? Clovis?

<132 bpm prog lol

Thats a really retarded line-up...

Posted by djgilla on Dec-01-2005 17:14:

132 bpm prog, . Some dj's do have the ability to play other things besides trance anthems. Sorry you feel that way about the line up or that i don't belong in there. Everyone is entitled to there own opinion. If everyone was happy, the world would be a better place and no one would be in here flaming the other
