[COFFEE] - How do you feed your need?
So all you professionals, scholars, and straight up slackers...yea you!!!
How do you take your coffee?
Any specific brand?
Starfukkerz?
Tell me I'd like to know...
I'll start it off
Dunkin Donuts Medium Vanilla Spice with Skim Milk and 2 equals
NEXT
2 cups of green mountain breakfast blend decaf from the coffee machine at work with skim and splenda
summertime: iced coffee with regular or 2% and 3 teaspoons of sugar
all other seasons: coconut/darjeeling/puerh/earlgrey tea with a splash of skim and 2 splendas
I'm actually trying to quit. I always crash once it wears off and I hate that.
I've gone from four cups a day this spring maybe a cup. Three weeks ago I made it all the way to thursday without any. It was a week without any caffiene, booze, or any other drugs. I actually felt high on life. Caved in on Friday with a double latte.
I've found the trick that worked for me is first cut the quantity in each serving but not the number of servings - I started having a shot of regular instead of a cup. Then I just went cold turkey and had a cup of cold milk every morning - just something to sip on. After a couple of days I realized that I didn't really need the coffee.
In the good old days I was not really aware of the caffiene high and so I guess coffee worked for me.
As time went along I have grown more conscious of the state of my mind. In between yoga and use (not abuse) of various substances opening my mind I am now more aware of a caffiene high and a lot of times, it just doesn't feel right.
It really does suck. I can't take vitamins without thinking of it as a drug because I can feel and know the effect it is having on me. Yes, I get high off of B-Complex.
I'm not really keen on the coffee buzz, either. It kind of makes me feel gross (I dunno, maybe I'm just weird). So instead I have one clean, refreshing Red Bull in the morning and that seems to work throughout the day. If I'm really tired from being out the night before, I'll have another one after like 3 pm to finish off the work day.
I hate the coffee crash as well so I only have some once or twice a month.
I hate plain coffee. If I ever get that I usually add milk and 30 gallons of sugar. Usually I have a white mocha late or caramel late (iced in the summer). These days though I've been enjoying the holiday coffee flavors. Gingerbread late's and peppermint late's are pretty damn good. Mmmmm
At the office im not that picky...as long as I have one cup to get my ass in gear (im a slacker all day if I don't have my coffee.) Outside of work I prefer Starbucks Caramel Macchiato with two packs of cane sugar.

large dunkin donuts coffee w/ 2 sugars before class gets me through the day heh
usually try to get FAIR TRADE coffee and second to that, organic/shade grown etc. i buy whole bean and frnch press at home, so here are some of my fav roasters and roasts.
at whole foods, allegro coffees are pretty good. whole foods organix blend is a blens of light and dark roasts and presses nicely. for a more pungent taste, the sumatra blue batak is wicked.
in NYC i was just turned on to porto rico coffee roasters... i got a cup last time i was in town and had to take home a couple pounds.
my fav roaster in the US (so far) is called larry's beans, located in raliegh, NC. all organic and faily traded and wow its good.
if i have to go to starbux, i will, and the one thing they do well is espresso. grande americano with room for cream pls. outside of cafe verona i try to avoid their roasts and blends as they all taste burnt.
a smaller chain that i do like is caribou coffee. and in FL barnie's is ok. and Austin's in Orlando is good for their lighter roasts.
lastly, there is a wicked place in charlottesville VA called the mudhouse. its always a good cup.
rule of thumb: local coffeehouses are almost always better than the chains. oh, and dunkin donuts coffee has crack or meth or somthing in it.
thats off the top of my head, but i make it a point to seek out local flavor coffee wherever i go, so i could probably list a dozen more that i like if i had time...
=)

Go to dunkin donuts, I think they put a spoon of coke in their coffee...
I feel like this when I am done drinking coffee there---->
Noel, you are right about that!! ^^
I get a huge head ache if I don't have my morning cup of BOLD blend, then I have one at lunch and around dinner (before class) from Starbucks because there is no other place around LOL....
grande reg with non-fat milk and sugar depending how I feel

Well my original caffeine of choice was the caramel macchiatos at Starbucks but since there aren't any starbucks around the school I've been drinking a medium regular from dunkin donuts. Yumm I love coffee.
1 small 8oz cup will last me all day with lots and lots of green/black/flavor tea
i used to swear by Starbucks Frappucinos, every flavor every season
but now i find them too sweet. Dunkin Donuts flavored coffee does the trick! with a lil half and half and two sweet n lows
coffee is getting to cost to much
but the ones at my work flavor/strenght sucks
but free
3 creams 2 sugars
Starbucks - Grande coffee with 2 shots of expresso, 30 seconds of poured sugar, sometimes twice a day
enigma, just fyi you are getting a sugar buzz there, but not that much caffiene. all those espresso drinks are overhyped, if yummy: one shot of espresso=about 80mg caffiene, whereas one 8oz cup of drip=200mg of caffiene.
so do the math.
16 0z grande latte (2 shots)=160mg
16 oz grande drip = 400 mg
so a 20 oz drip is about the same as 6 or 7 shots of espresso.
dont fuck with a junkie.
peace
noel
