Smiling Frog The Popcorn song...

I was listening to Crazy Frog album and checked out that Popcorn song, so I did a research and notice there are tons of producers with song names like that, like Aphex Twin or JMJarre, maybe are covers?
So I ve some questions:

- Who is the original producer?
- What is the best version?

This song is so cool...uplifting and melodic...

LOL

I haven't heard (luckily) none of the other Crazy Frog tracks besides the horrible Axel F but have seen the album tracklist and believe most of the tracks on the album are just "as-cheesy-as-cheddar-can-be" remakes of hits from the past with a very little effort and original production involved.

Anyways the original version of Popcorn comes from 1969, written and produced by Gershon Kingsley, released as 'Gershon Kingsley's First Moog Quartet - Popcorn' and was rewritten & produced by a brother duo Bill Jerome & Steve Jerome under the alias Hot Butter in 1972, backed up by a moog guru Stan Free who was also a member of Kingsley's First Moog Quartet. Then it finally became a huuuuge international hit.

Nowadays it has got dozens and dozens more remixes and remakes from various names under every imaginable genre but as said the original version is still the best, IMO as well.

Haha, well I must still give credit where credit is due. You do know an inordinate amount of information about all styles of electronic music, and for that I can't help but respect you. I couldn't fathom, though, that you actually knew all that about Popcorn Song without looking it up

The Aphex Twin remix owns all. Well, it's not actually an Aphex Twin remix. It's remixed under the Caustic Window alias and released on joyrex. click

I fuckin love it. If you haven't heard it, check it out. "Anybody who can remix "Popcorn" like that can afford to be arrogant". The original is second best after that.

Everything else I've heard is either pure shite, or just plain crap.. imo.

Space Penguins - The Elektrofunk (Atlantis Remix)

The best trancey remix of it I've come across. Worth hunting down.
