which cd was the most disappointment for you this year?

..and why?

tilt - explorer

1 cd release instead of 2 cds.. and the "special 2 cd edition", which was (inofficialy) announced for this year, never came out.

also..

probspot - organic waveforms

some good song on it, but it gets boring pretty fast because all songs sound equal.

ASOT 2005...the US edition cuz its missin a few songs that are on the other version

pod2. the original cd was a legacy, it was unique & it did everything it ever needed to. the 2nd one was just poor

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Nov-22-2005 18:02:

POD 2 is an obvious one, but I'd probably have to say Audio Bullys - Generation.

audiobullys plain suck, their remix of sinatra was bad enough but what they did to prodigys 'out of space' was criminal & should lead to the gas chamber

PVD POD2 for making a bunch of good tracks sound like crap, Nick Warren GU028 (I liked parts but it was a little too monotonous imo), Sander K This is Everybody On Tour CD2, it was okay but nothing amazing.

Posted by spc on Nov-22-2005 18:08:

ISOS4, because i expected it to be much much better.. but there were crappier cds out.. i just had higher expectations

i loved GU028 CD1. one of the best out of the series, imo.

Fundacion was pretty disappointing.

after the unstructured mess of isos3 i had no real hopes & thought it was really good, best out of the 'trance' cds from the 'big 4'

Ferry Corsten - Passport: Kingdom of the Netherlands

Only a few songs on both cd's that I enjoy a lot.

ehh.. you enjoyed his creamfields cd better than passport? i found passport to be much more tolerable

Noone said Shivers yet?

Have yet to listen to the Creamfields cd. And yeah, Shivers was pretty bad also.

shivers was the best cd of 2005

Posted by idoru on Nov-22-2005 19:05:

I didn't check out ASOT2005, Shivers (save for a few tracks I was forced to listen to on the local cheese radio), not did I check out PoD2. They didn't look interesting to me at all, and the reviews from just about everyone back that up.

What CD was the biggest let-down for me? Zabiela's UTiLiTiES. It was okay, some good tracks scattered here and there, but it didn't really grab me. I listened to it through once, skipped through it on the second run, gave it a third skip-through, and it's been on my shelf ever since.

Edit:

I'll add ISOS4 in here. Granted I hadn't expected it to be too good, but as an ex-Tisto-whore, I was thoroughly disappointed.

Well, I do like the CD...just nothing stood out for me. GU024 was much better IMO. More diverse. Fundacion seemed extrememly boring at first but it is growing on me.

+1

I thought GU28 was really good but I found Fundacion to be very boring. Involver was much better.

Posted by idoru on Nov-22-2005 20:26:

Involver was indeed the best. Fundacion was a let-down, as previously stated. There were a couple of excellent tunes at the end, and Come to Me in the middle, but the rest I still find to be bland and uninteresting.

Posted by sigmanova on Nov-22-2005 20:31:

Armin van Buuren - Shivers
Armin van Buuren - ASOT2005 (both US and EU versions)
Markus Schulz - Miami 05
Sasha - Fundacion
Paul van Dyk - The Politics of Dancing 2

but i gotta go to class now.

Posted by TOR on Nov-22-2005 20:42:

yep definitely Fundacin for me.. i guess my expectations were too high

Posted by zoric on Nov-22-2005 20:44:

POD2 & ASOT 2005 was pure crap.

Posted by DeRangedMind on Nov-22-2005 20:51:

DJ Tiesto - In Search of Sunris

Sasha - Fundacion

I hated a ASOT 2004 so I knew ASOT 2005 was not be any intersting but the track selection is some what better

should have not been released
