Gonna be in Dallas for Thanksgiving weekend..

hey everyone! i've never been to dallas so i was wondering if you guys can recommend what to do. i think on sunday my dad and i are gonna take the metro thing from fort worth into dallas and spend the day there.

what are some cool things to do? also, where are there the nice restaurants for lunch?

i don't know if i'll have time to go hit the bars or anything, but just in case, where is the party district? any cool lounges?

any info is greatly appreciated

hmmmm.... theres always the museum of art which is both supposed to be really cool to go to (never been to visit) but i have eaten there and its pretty good. you might also want to try something like toulouse on knox / henderson (anything on knox / henderson is gonna be okay -- cuba libre, etc). you might also want to try sambucca uptown (on mckinney and pearl), but they might only be open for dinner, never tried em for lunch.

party district would be lower greenville, but that is just kinda trashy. try old republic on mckinney (across from primos), manhattan bar uptown, or nikita in the west village.

for something downtown and upscale... try obar. its on main by the iron cactus.

ok i just talked to my dad...i didn't realize he lives so far from dallas. we're still going, but i doubt i'll make a drive to dallas to hang out at night. he lives in weatherford which is like a half hour outside of fort worth.

anyway, we're just gonna take the train to dallas from fort worth...i heard about this place called Sol's Taco Lounge...it's supposed to have the best tex mex food around. i'm sure i'll see the kenedy thing too where he got shot.

we're gonna go to Billy Bob's on friday night. it's supposed to be the biggest country western bar in the country. that should be interesting. if i have enough tequila in me, i'll ride the electronic bull.

i wish i had time to see the night life of dallas on friday night. oh well.

just being a half hour out of fort worth will be enough stereotype fulfillment for a weekend

ive been to dallas about 15 times and I still can't tell you what to really do there
