Cancer

Anyone have/had cancer?

My doctor thinks I might have lymphoma, I have to go to a special doctor on tuesday to get it checked out. Just the thought of the possibility is scaring so much. I made fun of lance armstrong, maybe I am being punished.

I still hate him though, he is n idiot.

the hell did lance armstrong do to make u hate him? were u in the tour de france?

He just brags about how "strong" he is. He was in "Dodgeball" saying how he wasn't a quitter, and as he was saying that, he was thinking, "$$$!"

And he made "Livestrong" because he had cancer. If he didn't have cancer he wouldn't give a shit about making a cancer foundation.

Actually, I don't really care about Sheryl Crow, but the wrist bands are just pure shit.

Of all the people in the world to make fun of, Lance would be really low on the list, yeah he wouldn't have given a shit about it before he got it - but you wouldn't have posted a thread about it before you got it or feared your had it. Make the best of the situation and move the fuck on, Lance has a greater will than I, he's done a lot with it and raised awareness like few have. Hate someone else.

Yeah those wrist bands are awful. They helped to raise more than 6 million dollars to help find ways to fight/make life easier to live with cancer.

Damn the wristbands.

ditto. those wristbands were meant only for cancer survivors, but because of his mainstream, or lack of .. i dont know, popularity, the wrist band phenomenon grew like crazy .. those who wore the bands and didn't have cancer are wearing them for the wrong reason .

lance armstrong is an inspiration for all people who feel meek and shallow, and he pushes them to strive to be the best.

the wrist bands have different meanings and messages. i have one that says hurricane katrina because i donated 100 bucks to them and my school was giving them out for like a buck so i donated another 5 bucks and got one.

btw, i wish you the best. my Grandma, may she rest in peace, died of breast cancer last spring. Just don't worry and stay srong if anything.

I wore one of those wrist bands and I never had cancer.

I bought ten at a time and carried them with me. Anytime someone asked me what is was for I told them, it's for the Lance Armstrong foundation which is an organization that that helps cancer victims and survivors. I would give them one and I would tell them where they could buy them is they wanted to. When I ran out I would buy more and continue the process.

The wristband is about awareness and assiting those in need.

anyways, stay strong, and fight it. pray those lymphnodes are non-malignant, and doesn't spread to any forms of malignant cancer lumps any time soon ... i myself have lymphs that grow in my body, but luckily it's just calcium extracts from the effect of intaking too much calcium my stomach can take . everytime i find a new bump grow, i hope it isn't cancer. my body sucks .. .

My dad has cancer, he had it since 1999. It started in his Colon and the doctors said he only has 3 months to live. Its been 6 years and counting and he is doing fine. Though some cancer has reached the lungs but he is still doing fine.

Just hope the cancer would disappear though.

One thing that may help destory the Cancer is Vitamin B17 which is found in apricot seeds, its bitter but it helps.

Coming back from cancer and winning 7 hardcore endurance events is an achievement.
But hope all goes well mate,A friend of mine had an ordeal where he thought he had cancer,he got it seen to,an it took a long while for the results to come back,but when they did thankfully he didn't have cancer.
But he did have another problem and has had a number of operations to get it sorted,and I know from how he felt when he was unsure of what it was,that you are goign through a stressful time.
My only advice tis to fill your time until you know what it is,or you will dwell on it and it will devour you whatever the outcome is.
It sounds silly of me to say this as I have no idea what you are going through,but through all trials in my life I've found the best bit of advice to be occupied in life,and when hard times come you can deal with them easier.

i have a rare form of cancer called marcsummersonia. it makes my nuts swell up to the size of grapefruits.

I assume that if you catch it early it's curable right?

I got Type 1 diabetes 2 years ago and was devastated. But I grabbed it by the balls and didn't let it get the better of me, and I think that's what you'll have to do with this thing.

And as for the argument "didn't give a shit about it before", I can totally understand those people who don't.

I didn't care about diabetes before I got it..

Best of luck dude. It won't be easy but I'm sure you'll be fine.

Fuck that... don't you have to be careful about what you eat? That must be hard as hell! And insulin?! blood tests every day?! That must take so much disipline.

And, on another note. My whole life is being turned upside down. I am just thinking about tuesday. I am freaking out. My mom gets quiet every time I ask her when my appointment is. I can't wait until this blows over and I find out it's m&m's under my skin, or something like that.

Yeah. You can eat just like you normally do and how other people do, just gotta watch your glucose levels and do exercise like you normally used to. All part and parcel of the diabetes thing. You get used to it.

But given the choice of diabetes or cancer, I'd have the diabetes. Here's hoping you're clear.

I had a lump when i was 15 had it removed and several op's later im fine...
Do wish you get some good news however and even though you may be shitting yourself about the results there is some really good treatment out there as opposed to ten years ago.
