*bump*

Glad to see you used some of my suggestions

I'll probably be able to give you more detail when I get home and have time to listen to the whole thing - but just from listening to little bits I'd say it sounds great.

Ok from the start it sounds nice, but that clap is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too loud. That needs to be cut in half at least and turn the reverb waay down as well. It's already getting irritating to listen to becuase of that clap. In that break your synths are a bit too loud as well, bass sounds nice, but itss hard to hear under all the other stuff. Nice choir pads during the break. The lead isnt bad by any means, but it could use a bit of brightening. But I'm now at 4:30 in and I just can't listen anymore cuz of that clap. I would suggest going back and doing a lot of work on levels. Other than that it sounds pretty good.

Posted by staticblue on Nov-25-2005 19:22:

This will sound alot better without this clap man

best stuff i heard from you uptillnow groovey bassline. good job !

Posted by Lalin on Nov-25-2005 19:33:

Sounds good except...well I don't even need to tell you now...

Posted by technoman on Nov-25-2005 23:20:

Nice melody

This is a great track man.Superb.(minus the clap)

Everything comes together very nicely.
I love the melody throughout.(top stuff there)

What programs are you using?
Im a neewbie so i have one question. At 6:23 what is that drum roll called(how do you achieve that)
Oh and nice piano work too.

Posted by Aquarian on Nov-26-2005 02:50:

Ok I'd probably agree about the clap. Don't kill it completely though, just reduce it a bit. It's really not that bad.. maybe I just like loud claps.

As far as I know it's just called a drumroll and you achieve it with a volume slide.

agree completely, also the level of the hi's is way to high... a bit hard on the ears. I can barely hear the low end because of that when i turn it up...
the melody is fine, the arrangement is alright: those are usualy artists choice, not my preference cause it sounds a bit uninspired- but i think even that would sound way better once the hi's are dealt with.
those are just opinions and some improvements i think you can make, this song has a lot of potential tho...
cheers

Hey Aquarian

Hey Aquarian,

I see you from Laval.
Im from Ile perrot. Are there a lot of montreal guys here?

Do you have anything that you produced that i can take a listen to?

Posted by alanzo on Nov-27-2005 21:22:

Starts out nice... another hard trance?

Clap is too loud and/or needs to be EQed to get rid of muddyness

bass is pretty nice..

that clap sounds horrid by this point and is annoying... (1:20)

I heard some distortion in that kick fill

main melody isn't too bad.. i almost like it

comes in hard.. but would be nice if the hats where louder when the kick comes in...

Altuna was better

Yeah - scroll down the list, there's a forum just for montreal.

lol, i love that face at the end gives humor.

Listening....::::::::::;...::::......::::::::::::::: <----EQ!

Good-----------------------------------------------------------------
Excellent percussion
Fast, precise bass, Song arrangement is very orerly
Main Highhat (Cliche, but sounds good)
Atmosphere (Tons of it) Little melodic touches
Bass change is nice and aesthetic.
Blending of strings is nice.
Excellent vocals.
Massive melody (I've heard that somewhere before. lol, maybe George Hales)
Piano sounds nice and classic (In a trance standard nowadays kind of way)
At 5:00 Excellent synth **may I ask what that is?
6:00 Beautiful way to set the stage for a final build up.

Bad----------------------------------------------------------------
Clap's too loud
Kick not strong enough
Break comes in a bit too early I think (Or maybe its just a pre-break at around 2 minutes)
KICK NEEDS StRONGER KICK! lol.
Sounds Mono at times

The Verdict
It has its amazing euphoric moments and its a track with great potential. but it's the small details that rob it from all it's glory.
Adding a stereo enhancer to certain synth channels can fix the sounding mono at times. and the kick needs to stand out a bit more. The clap sounds fine but volume can easily be turned down just about this much (-)
Overall its a a well produced track.

Nice start. But like the other comments, the clap is too loud.
Good drive. Smooth break. Man, I'm really liking the quality of this. Sounds really pro.

Listening again, couldn't pick on anything more the first round.
About the break, build up is good, but I would've liked it to be a little more build up.

Sweet, nice job.

UPDATE VERSION CLICK HERE

Cheers!

Posted by staticblue on Dec-08-2005 17:07:

it's very good (great kick and drive) until the offbeat subbass comes in. I think it could be improved a tad (different pattern ?) i was also expecting a fatter lead, this one sounds too cheapish IMO

structure of the track and mixing are pretty good though, and good drive in it. definitly your best track uptill now !

Posted by DjDefected on Dec-08-2005 17:10:

Hey altuna, nice track again. The only thing is I thought the intro sounded busy, but that might jsut be me. really liked the meldoy and the lead definitly made me want to get out of my chair and dance.

Posted by djrenco on Dec-08-2005 17:19:

hey mate.. sounds very nice a little oververbed i think.. this could be a live rip of a set man anyway good job so far

cheers

I listened to the updated version. Sweet track, it sounds good. The drive is good, I like it...
Other elements are pretty standard, now is the time to inject some of your own signture sounds into this production and make it different.

Posted by thecYrus on Dec-08-2005 19:08:

very nice production!

but i would change the piano as this sound doesn't fit that well to the other sounds. and perhaps lower a bit the offbass. it's a bit too loud..
