Doesn't look legit to me, There are lots of email scams out there claiming to be from the actual sites, They would then point to a url, But if you move the mouse over it, you will noticed the URL is completely different from the one posted within the email, So beware, They might try to get your personal info, Or worst, Install a virus.

ok, just found out the email link leads to:
http://1-workgood.ne1.net/

When u click on it, it looks exactly the same as Paypal. Is it just a mirror site? Or are paypal re-directing the URL?

Yeah when he logs in to paypal everything is normal.

pay pal will never ask you to do that. They won't ask you to click links either.

That website looks very suspicious. I wouldnt recommend logging in through it as its probably storing your email and password details.

Posted by StereoPrincess on Nov-25-2005 22:43:

nope.

not legit.

let me guess, there is a link in the email that leads you to a website that looks like paypal? but you will noticed slight differences especially in the URL address.

WTF!, Are you crazy, You could've infected your machine, NEVER OPEN SUSPECIOUS URLS! The coding on the URL could install a virus without you knowing. If you get an email with a suspicious link, Don't be stupid and open the link, Delete it imediately.

Dont use internet exploder. Have your browser run only activeX and jscript's from sites that you ok. Simple fix. Are you that paranoid?

This is exactly why I'm using Firefox more often the IE, It's safer to use since Firefox doesn't use activeX.

That website is a total fake. I opened the page source for that link and looked for the

tag for the login box. I noticed the action for the form is processing.php. I found out that the processing.php that it takes you is not on the paypal server, I make some bogus username and password, clicked login. It took me to a form with fields for pretty much everything you dont want people to know, social security, credit cards, all that stuff.

Someone should report this site, I dont know who to report it too though or I would have. This site is made to steal all sorts of information and your paypal username and password. STAY AWAY.

These kind of scams get the Arbiter stamp of approval. Anyone dumb enough to fall for them deserves to be defrauded.

SCAM

I sometimes get similar emails from "ebay" asking me to verify my details, or else my account will be suspended.

The worst ones are the fake emails from banks that ask you to click on a link to verify your account details. As if they are ever real!

Oh well, stupid people still fall for it and they end up getting their bank account cleaned out

Posted by Xenocreator_PG_ on Nov-26-2005 01:52:

it's spam.

I get 3 or so emails like this a week. Just delete it! Freaken scam spam

Posted by dark_Omens on Nov-26-2005 15:26:

Definatly a scam. All paypal urls start with https://... When I get one like these, I sent a reply saying something like "fuck off" or "suck it" which then send an email to the real paypal, and notifies them about the scammers.

Posted by djkoolaide on Nov-26-2005 16:45:

that's a definite scam. if you're ever unsure about these things, just call paypal (or whatever company) and ask them.
