Sander at System Nov 25 Review Thread

Club is still mostly full.

All Djs played well, got hit in the face with someone's glowstick.
Didn't have room to dance all night long, which leeched my energy.
Good music.
Good people.
Jelena, you and our crew were the best part of my night.

more later.

EDIT:
Kelly, I see you're online, we missed you down at system, where were you?

Posted by Yohan on Nov-26-2005 12:22:

She was at Marcel Woods, where the real TA party was at. (mostly because we could dance at Viva)

ok very quick and short review here since I just walked in the door and I am now getting ready for work

My first time seeing Sander and I am glad I did not let work get in the way of me missing him again
He completely rocked the place.. I am in my glory..5.5 hours of pure bliss.. and I can never miss him again.. except I could have done without the little trancy part of his set.. there was no need for that
The crowd was a little much for me to handle as well.. very pushy, crowded.. no room to dance until earlier this morning.. wish something could have been done about that, but other than that it was another great experience at System and Sander is the Man

great seeing a bunch of you out tonight although when I saw most of you, it looked as though you were lost.. could never find anyone it was sooo packed...haha

anyhow.. time for work.. I'm out!

Glad I got to the club early so I didn't have to spend the first half of my night in that insane outside line and even longer coat check wait.

Hung about the front room for the first hour or two as the sound in the main room was frightful. Chris feed us a great funky house set in the gallery to help warm us all up so I was happy to drift around in there until the mainroom sound improved. The tracks Sydney laid down were great, although IMO a bit too peak time for the time slot, but the sound in the main room was so dirty, muddled and hard on the ears. They got the sound sorted in the main room once Brad went on on. I'd have to say that Copeland played the best that I have ever seen from him play. Definitely one of the best programmed sets I have seen from him or any opening DJ in that space. Absolutely perfect opening set. Sander K was killing the main room but the crowds were far too much for me to handle so I spent the rest of my night in the gallery hanging with the TA family who were happy to find a small space to dance. Deep Groove never fails to impress in the Gallery! Outside of the TA group I found the crowd to be really pushy and disrepectful but you can't really blame people for getting agitated when a club is that rammed.

All in all great night. Killer tunes. Finally got to put a few more faces to TA names which is always so much fun. Am hoping to do Howells at new years but if the crowd last night is any indication of what to expect other plans may have to be made.

i am broken man, but it was more than wortht it. my everything hurts but it was more than worth it. wounds will heal, my back will be fucked up when i grow old anyways but memory of this night will stay forever.

me and some 40 friends of mine raising hell. sander playing the sickest, darkest, "good lordy this is not possible" brutal set i've ever heard live. best crowd i've seen in a club in a looongest time. so many friendly people, so many hot girls.

anyways, im still too smashed for a proper rewiev, ill do it later

#2 party of 2005, Tenaglia still being #1 just for the overall experience. Sander dropped the best damn set I've heard all year.

Every year there's a party I attend which I think no one should have missed. Last year it was Armin on the Canada Day boat cruise. For 2005 it was Sander Kleinenberg @ System. Great vibe, not uncomfortably crowded, and sick sick beats.

dark, dirty prog...right up to prog trance. He's a genius with flow...his CD sets are sooooo good and it was a hell of a surprise to see him easily top them all with tonight's set. Hopefully that set was recorded...?

unfortunately missed Sydney Blu, but Brad Copeland was excellent...left around 7-ish, I think, as it was thinning out.

nice to see some TAs, though I obviously missed a ton of people if that roll call is accurate...Nat, Graham, Frank, Sam, Lauren, Margaret, Ray...good times tonight for sure.

must sleep...my body will hate me when I get up, but god damn, what a f**king inredible night. I will miss System...this set simply would not have sounded as good anywhere else.

Last night I was saved by the 'angel of no-lineups'. From being able to walk right up to the front door w/an immediate entry (oh, how I will miss this priviledge dearly once System is gone....), to friends butting me into the coat check line immediately upon entry, and for Bandit & his gf who got my coat out for me (being at the front of the line) at the end of the night. Having to stand in the 'worlds slowest coat check line' would've just sent me into deep depression for sure.... holy crap, I hope they fix that b4 any other large future events there!

Once in & doing the rounds of hello's, I was completely pleased with the tunes Deep Groove to keep myself in the front room til almost 2am. Tune of the night for me was then w/Audio Bullys- "We Dont Care" (dirty mix?). 2nd Dj on (Eric Green?) was also really good. Front room was the only place I could really dance.

Main room (as expected) was uber packed and pretty warm, comfortable pockets of room were scarce. Only saw the back of Sander's head from behind the booth- never even got a frontal view of him once last night! < Aside from the big crowds, I was really just there for the 'event'- to see my friends (many who have crawled out of the woodwork) & socialize, & pay my respects to System, more than I was there for Sander. What I paid attention to of Sander's music was quite good, tho i'm not a 'Sander connaiseur'. Just as long as the rest of you were having fun is all that matters .

Had a good time hanging out w/people, seeing everyone and meeting some nice peeps. Good conversations were had in the side bar area on the benches. Funny ass 'short circuited' attempts at conversation were had with Jon Jon- holy f*ck dude, u made ZERO SENSE!!! (and u thought I was the one f'ed up!) Please let your brain recover. C-mack, super good hanging out- hope the drive home was ok. Good times w/so many of u there... u know who u are.

Overall, a really good night. I'm gonna aim to be back for NYE there. System is going out with a BANG!

Well here's my "review"

I get to System around 10.30, even though I wasn't planning on going. But from all the people that were there, I was glad I came. This was setting itself up to be a WICKED party. So, after running around for a bit; talking to people here and there, I find out that my ride is leaving...and here came my dilemma. Do I go get my keys out of his car and stay and then take the streetcar home, or do I just go with him and avoid the cold weather. It came down right to the end, but I decided to do the right thing for once and leave, especially since I had to work the next day and DID NOT want to repeat last week (party-work-party-work-sleep). I left before the party even started really, which was good and bad.

But the worst/best moment of this whole night came in the morning, at 10am when I got a call from work telling me that I don't have to come in today. I said "thanks!" and went back to sleep, with my last thought being "Damn I should've stayed at System".

It was nice seeing all of you there, even if only for a bit

last night was, by far, one of the best night i have attended at system soundbar. the other two times was for steve lawler and john digweed.

the place was packed. shoulder-to-shoulder in some spots. a lot of good looking women in there (which system is usually lacking).

sydney blu opened the main room. i usually dont like what she plays but last night i thought she did well. brad came on to set things up for sander and he did a great job at doing so. sander completed KILLED it! it was pure dark & dirty, just the way i love it! i was on the dancefloor right infront of the booth having a great time until i got fed up with everyone pushing me. i left at 3:20am. couldnt take the bullshit in there.

i caught a bit of alex's set (one of the guys from deep groove) in the gallery and he played nice. alex, hope to see you at another great residency in the new year! thanks for the hookup!
