RTFM

There's a manual in your Cubase Box.
Go have a look

It mentions buses but i have no idea what its talking about. When i select devie setup all i see is ASIO, is htis the problem. Shouldnt it be my soundcard ?

Press F3 to open the mixer window. Look at the track to the far right, is the level meter moving when you press play??? if it is, then the audio is working, and you have selected the wrong driver in the Device setup, or something's funky with your soundcard/driver setup. Cubase is doing it's job, it's just not configured correctly.

If it's not moving then a) the sample is broken or b) you're doing something wrong and RTFM

and when we say RTFM we actually mean that you should sit down for 3-4 hours AND READ THE FUCKING MANUAL! Every page of it, don't skip a single page! I've already read the whole thing three times, and each time I do I learn 20 new things that I can do in Cubase

You just spent like 600 bucks on the software, now you have to learn to use it or it'll just be a waste of money

Believe it or not some people in this world still do buy things in shops where actual people work. Getting really fed up with posting on this site to be met with at least one reply talking about piracy.

Thanks to the other replies guys

Even when i go into open a wav sample, it does not play any sound when i click on the sample.

scratch that

went to devices > device setup > VST Multitrack

clicked ASIO4all and it asked me to switch. I selected ok. It then gave me a thing called big ben below it and the little LED bars to the right are now lighting up when i press play

however still no sound

lol

I love how everyone just flames about shit nowadays...why can't you just give the kid an answer. Sure he should read the manual but don't be a total ass about it. I say if you're getting no sound out of it still...check your plugs? Make sure everything is plugged in, sound isn't muted and all that other junk. If that isn't the case then it's just something you don't have configured right. Read the manual a little bit on how to configure your soundcard and whatever and then come back to us. There are too many different possibilities right now where your sound isn't "working." Good luck.

at Diginut. That is so something you just say on a daily basis.

Got it to work. Finally did some reading lol.

I knew what may be causing the problem ya see, but i just wasnt sure where it was located in cubase and once i found out (by readin) where the ASIO was, it was perfect. I reinstalled ASIO again, newer version.

Simple as that.

Thanks guys

See what a little reading can do for you? :P Sometimes you just gotta get up, stop being lazy and do some work for a change.
