Hello Yall,

i am fairly new to this genre. I have been listenin to trance and attending parties for about a year now. I am now beginning to think i want to begin Djing and experimenting with that side, I have no idea where to start, whether a computer program or going out and gettin some turntables....any help would be great, thanks in advance!

i think general opinion is learn on turntables and go from there.

i bought turntables and serato scratch live (which allows me to mix digital formats via a time-coded vinyl) essentially eliminating the "need" for a cddj (although the cddj have plenty of extra featurs which you cannot do on a normal turntable).

Try a demo of a computer program first to see if you even like doing it. Try MixVibes (pretty easy to use), and then read this site:

to learn the basics. Then just mess around.

If you decide you like it enough to spend 500-1000 dollars, then read the following topics, and learn to use the Search feature located in the top right corner of the forum to decide what gear to buy, and if to go vinal or CD.
