"I'm calling to let you know"
I heard this song a couple years ago on the radio, but I never could find out the name. Its all synthesizer (no singer) with a short sample of a phone message playing over and over. The caller is female and has a British accent. The sample of her voice says:
"Im calling to let you know..."
or possibly
"Ive just called to let you know..."
This continues for a while over a moderate beat with some beautiful synth lines on top of it.
As the track ends, the entire message is finally played. It was far too long for me to memorize word for word, but heres what I remember:
"Im calling to let you know your position at [a Eurpoean tech company] has been eliminated and your services are no longer needed. Please do not report for work on Monday. If you have [some sort of benefit or longevity with said company], you are eligible for [some other benefit]. Sorry, you do not qualify. Thank you for your service.
I got the impression that this was a real phone message which was auto-dialed out to a large number of laid-off employees. I think the point of it was to demonstrate how cold and impersonal the experience was.
If anyone happens to know what this track was or who did it, please, please, please... Help!
Thanks for your time.
