Sirius or XM?

We're getting Sirius / XM in two weeks here in Canada, and i was wondering which one you guys would recommend, seeing as you've got some experience with em already. Sirius has BBC Radio One, which is awesome, but they only have one trance/house channel. XM has two separate channels for each trance and house.

I would have to say XM Radio for Music but for Surris its all about Howard Stern and let me tell you hes been added so much material on there as of late.

I would go to a Best Buy and check them both out or you can laways rent them at stores like Rent-a-Center

i would pay for sirius just to have howard stern.

XM they have Victor Dinaire for fucks sake and Armin is coming at the end of the year yes his ASOT!

Posted by Thero40 on Dec-05-2005 00:37:

Sirius was better becuase it use to have a station that played mixes 24/7 but they cancelled it so now it only has 2 edm stations. XM has 3 so i would go for that, plus ASOT is on one of the stations now

bitch? thats harsh.

how do you explain not funny?

when i was a howard fan 10 years ago there were times i did not want to get out of my car or go to class so I could keep listening. he isnt like that anymore.

he used to make me laugh. he doesnt anymore.

he admitted to cashing it in the past few years. from what i have heard, things havent been better on sirius. he doesnt have the fcc to bitch at anymore.

he has no material left. he has been replaying bits from his krock days.

and now he is down to working 4 dyas per week.

i am not the only one to think this either....

Rolling Stone Article on Howard on Sirius

Another Good Article on Howard

Howard brought in 1.2m new subs for Sirius Q4 of '05. Sirius was expecting more then that.

Yes I am an O&A fan, but was originally a Howard fan and then I was a fan of both.

Howard spews more lies out of his mouth then Peter North spews jizz from his shlong.

XM because it's already in my SUV. But when I pick a new double-DIN CD/DVD this spring, bye bye to satellite.

I only use it for FOX News and ESPN anyways.

My music selection is way better then their three EDM stations. As if EDMers don't already have more music than they can pay attention to.

i find that xm has a better selection for electronic music..........and i hate stern, so i would never support sirius

Well he does have new bits with the guys he heard called Sal and Richard...those guys are genuises at what they do and hes not taking fridays off only twice a month because he some much work to do since hes going have 2 extra channels and plus In Demand on On Demand. But back to him taking off fridays, he has show called the Friday show which includes a wrap of the whole week and the have Baboboyee. The shows are longer with less commerical and plus hes got mre edgy matrial to play now plus he sound happy because he more freedom to say anything plus he can put any show up on there like hes given Danny Bounche he own show too. Oh and its 2.5 million people who signed up and more are doing so. Yeah I guess your wrong because at worng Suirus product are always selling.

About The O&A Army, you better thank Howard that those 2 jackoffs even are on XM because after the shit they pulled at the church no radio company was willing to hire them. 2 years when Howard Stern was making his decision on who he wanted to join XM and Surius called Howard to see if they mind if these morons could get hired and like the Godfather Howard is he said yes. He could have said no those two could be without a job.

btw sorry for saying bitch...bad nite

dude, i dont want to turn this into a howard v. O&A thread, but listen to me....

you are spitting out remarks that came from Howard. This is more proof that howard is a liar. I actually heard the show when Howard made all those remarks. Its ridiculous. Howard lives in his own world.

Howard is not the godfather. XM DID NOT CALL howard to ask him if they should sign O&A. Why would they do that? They wouldnt.

When O&A were taken off of WNEW, they WERE NOT ALLOWED to work anywhere else. They were still under contract to Infiniti Broadcasting.

Infiniti purposely did not fire them. They wanted to keep them off the air.

O&A signed with XM 6 months after they were taken off of WNEW. They could not start the show until the Infiniti contract was done. They started the Monday after the old contract expired.

Why would Infiniti do that? So they couldnt compete with Howard.

You are starting to believe everything that Howard spews out out his lying mouth. Read independant articles to get your information.

Howard said 2.5m subs on his show. But the OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE from Sirius says 1.2m in the 4th quarter. Sirius only has 3.2m TOTAL subs.

Here is the press release from Sirius. After all the fancy PR terminology you can just look at the numbers....

Press Release

XM turned down Howard, it was not th eother way around. But Howard will say what he has to to make himself feel better. XM offered him MUCH LESS money. When Howard rejected it and asked for more, XM pulled the offer and ceased negotiations.

O&A already had a contract with XM by then.

Dont listen to everything Howard says. Most of it is untrue.

back on topic: groove radio international on sirius friday afternoons blows asot away on most occasions. Most of sirius' 'resident' dj mixes are terrible though, a lot of cheese and freestyle.

can anyone give an example of a few (decent) tracks that play on xm? im curious just how their programming stacks up against area 33 on sirius. Area 33 plays decent and somewhat current tracks (seems at least one programmer has good taste in electro) but seriously suffers from repitition.

they're in the process of making a universal system. So you can subscribe to both and get all the stations.
